Movies that Make you Feel Happy?

you must mean the newest down periscope since the ww2 one was serious
Yes. Kelsey Grammar starred in it. Nuclear submarine era but a pure comedy. And a good comedy because it had good acting, a strong story line, sympathetic characters and had you on your feet cheering at the end. All elements of a good movie.

Not aware of any earlier movie titled "Down Periscope."

Yes. We probably have a lot of them in our movie collection as we have a whole shelf of war movies, most of them WWII movies.

But one of our favorites is a post WWII thriller "The Hunt for Red October." Really a good movie even with Alec Baldwin starring in it. :)

Hmm... there is a difference between movies that make you feel "happy" - and movies that make you laugh. Different.
In that context -
The Pursuit of Happyness.
Christmas Carol (with George C Scott)
Christmas Story
The Breakfast Club -- yes a comedy of sorts, but for me more of nastalgia

A new and overlooked movie: FLOW
Just a peaceful little movie with a good score.

Like your signature quote, I have lots of them, one of my favorites is below, basically means the same thing as yours.

" Neither a wise man nor a brave man lays down on the tracks for the for the train of the future to run over him." Ayn Rand.

Now back to movie I like, a silly one from 1963. Just rented it on YT.
