This doesn't surprise me. I actually see more U.S media coverage than I've ever seen, it seems some in the U.S care more than we do and she is our Queen, a member of the monarchy you fought to leave.

Perhaps some in the U.S prefer a political monarchy for America as well?

Respondents were fairly split when it came to watching the Queen’s funeral, with 48 per cent saying they planned to tune into the ceremony when it is televised next Monday and the same percentage saying they would not.

Leger executive vice-president Christian Bourque said it appears many won’t be watching out of genuine affection for the monarch, who was also Canada’s longest-serving head of state.

That’s because only about a quarter of all respondents said they had been even moderately personally impacted by the Queen’s death, while nearly 75 per cent said they felt little to no impact at all.

“It’s curiosity more than caring at this point,” Bourque said

Queen Elizebeth was a grand lady whose life spanned from WWII to the present day

Will King Charles ever have the respect that she had?

No

But the Queen was different

Canadians like Americans are too busy trying to come up with gas money in their socialist nations to care about a Queen who died at 9FING6...... any of us should be so lucky... not only to live a long life but to never have to wipe your own butt or cook a meal or make a bed or clean a table..... give us a break media.....
Enough already.....

Hmmm. I must be Canadian. I never thought I'd be a Canadian. I like maple syrup on my pancakes and Canadian bacon on my pizza, but I don't really like the cold and snow. I don't own a dog sled or speak French either.

But now I'm a Canadian too, because I don't really give much of a crap about British royalty.

I respect the Queen for her diligence to duty. She wasn't there for the fanfare or personal gain. She viewed her life as duty to country, never more prevalent than during WWII which she contributed a small part through work, but a larger part via her radio transmissions as a young woman.

If her passing isn't of interest to most Canadians, how will Charles or Williams passing be viewed? The drop off is steep from her to her next of kin.

I don't know that any world leader could ever command the genuine respect which Queen Elizabeth II did.

It was interesting to see where the Queen's funeral procession went in Scotland. Three years ago, my daughter and I were in Scotland and visited St. Giles Cathedral, which was one of the stops. We visited a lot of churches and cathedrals, but that one stands out because we had to purchase a photo pass to take pictures inside:

Wait until they start putting King Chuck's face on your money...

I'm not surprised that Canadians value their heritage.

Everyone wants to be seen shilling for a queen they've never met on their social media feeds, collecting likes and views. It's the world we live in these days.
