i am not sure about it. but i hope you are correct on this
The Russians haven't made any move to take Alaska. For several reasons.
First, they just don't have the capacity.
Second, it would be a naval operation, and our navy outclasses theirs by about an order of magnitude.
Third, they've got one cold water port, Vlodivostok. Which we could take out in an afternoon. We have a dozen. Making any supply lines impossible for them to maintain, even assuming the US navy vanished as if by magic.
Fourth, they couldn't fund it. The Russian economy is a paltry thing, barely half of the GDP of the single State of California. Let alone the entity of the US.
Fifth, they couldn't take us in a land battle in their country. Let alone a land battle in ours. Russia couldn't prevent an invasion of its territory by Ukraine. Yet they're somehow going to be able to beat us in our own territory? Good ******* luck.
And sixth there's the OTHER military that they couldn't handle: the ludicrously well armed civilian population that would descend upon them like a pack of rabid wolves.
This is empty saber rattling for the Russian public, signifying nothing.
The most terrifying thing about the Russian military is its incompetence. They demonstrated, elegantly and repeatedly, that NATO could so easily wipe the floor with their conventional military that Russia would have to resort to non-conventional weapons. Like nukes.
