The COVIID-19 lockdowns will end up killing far more people than they save, in the form of increased suicides, increased drug and alcohol overdoses, and canceled and postponed medical procedures. For young and middle aged people who have healthy immune systems, being and poor and unemployed is more dangerous than having COVID-19.
I would like to see someone prove that. Where are the numbers? Yes people dies from drug abuse, alcoholism, suicide and yes ,the virus has exacerbated that . But in the absence of a lockdown, how nay more would die from that direct effects of the virus. As for the young with healthy immune systems, a couple of points: 1) A strong immune system can actually cause someone to get even sicker because the virus battles it out with the immune system in the lungs. 2) Those young people may survive the virus more often , but this disease can ravage the entire body from the kidneys to the heart to the brain and result in lifelong disabilities . What do you think that will do for the long term well being of those individuals and the economy overall? 3) Those young people are infectious, even if asymptomatic and can easily transmit it to more vulnerable people
