The following must be seen through the prism of the Iron Lady's famous quote:
“The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.”
Another problem is what it does to the human spirit.
"How Biden quietly created a huge social program
...the American Rescue Plan for President Biden to go big on tackling child poverty. They prevailed over what one person involved in the process called the “cost police” in Biden’s inner circle, those anxiously warning about the ballooning cost of the stimulus package.
... if made permanent, could approach the impact of the programs established under President Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty.
[An immense failure on the order of $22 trillion wasted dollars.....the poverty rate is essentially the same as before the Democrats tossed that money into the dump.]
The program’s impact probably will be profound. It expands the federal child-rearing subsidy by 50 percent — and parents of toddlers will get even more. A family with two young children and no income will now get $600 a month. The parents of 90 percent of the country’s children will benefit, and millions of children will be lifted from poverty, according to analysts."
The alternative, Trump's program, reduced poverty by creating jobs via cutting government control.
Under Trump:
“Black unemployment rate falls to 5.9%, ties record low hit earlier this year”
"Speaking more generally, I cannot think of a single mid-level Obama policy that counts as a pro-growth initiative. The same bad rap cannot be leveled against Trump, for, as the economists Edward C. Prescott and Lee E. Ohanian point out in the Wall Street Journal, the deregulatory cornerstones of the Trump administration are economically sustainable. Deregulation of labor and capital markets are not just a short-term shot in the arm, and the lower taxation of corporate income has worked to repatriate capital from overseas and to expand overall levels of investment. So long as these remain permanent features of the economy—a big “if” with an election coming up—private firms have the necessary time horizons to make much-needed long-term investments. That activity will in turn--as has begun to happen--rejuvenate labor markets. Youth unemployment hit a 50-year low, and the pace of hiring continues to rise. The stock market, always a leading indicator of future fortune, rose by about one-third in Trump’s first year in office and continues to hit all-time highs."
