More Nazism. No book burning, but removal from schools.

Educators are to the left because they are educated. Heaven forbid educated people should be involved.

And yet they rely on callously manipulating the dumbest and least educated minorities for votes and street thuggery.

Ha. Answer a question, jerk. If parents in some school district vote that their kids should be taught that Earth is flat. Should it be included in the school curriculum?

Do find us how that compares to a school board not wanting profanity, sadism, and nudity in school approved curriculum for middle schools. These strawmen people are dreaming up are just silly rubbish.

Ok, and you as a student were strong enough to deal with it because of your upbringing, but in today's snowflake society can you say that it is the same today ?? First the kids have been primed to reject Christianity because it is being blamed for all the woes in society by the leftist. So once that is completed, then what sort of mentality is left in these new little stalinist brain's being reformed or formed in society ?? Well I think we have our answer's, but what is going to be done about it ???

One of the first things I learn talking to an actual historian is how they view History.

You can ask them who their favorite historical person is, and they will talk to you for hours about that person.
Then you can turn around and ask them to talk about everything that person did wrong ...
And will talk to you for hours about everything that person did wrong.

They aren't trying to sell you something ... They recognize history for what it is.

Man, we are talking about 14 year old kids (it was parents of eighth-graders). Heck, I am sure that a great number of these kids already know how to find 'forbidden' sites on Internet.

What is more important, the issue lies much deeper than just forbidding this book. The main question is to what extent parents should be able to influence what is taught in schools.

I wonder how they feel about Catcher In The Rye and The Snows of Killamanjaro? We read both in Literature Class in the 10th grade. I didn't care for both and it didn't have any effect on me except that I didn't care for the characters. I perceived characters in both stories as people of weak character. I am against Censorship of any kind. I have learned that when you tell a teenager not to read something I guarantee they will read it. If we go to those schools mentioned I bet you will see kids with those banned books. I say that because banning books was tried in the 1970s in my county schools system and the books were listed in the newspaper and reported on the radio on Sunday . Come Monday at school a lot of us teens were carrying at least one of the books on the list. I was carrying Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. When we passed each other in the hallway we would hold up our book and smile.

You pseudointellectual twit. What don't you understand about the inherently contradictory, self-negating piffle of relativism? What don't you understand about the reality that no institution of education exists in an ideological vacuum? What don't you understand about the imperatives of natural and constitutional law, and, thus, the imperative of universal school choice?

You're a mindless conformist asking all the wrong questions.

Agree, but you left out what effect it has on you as a person, and what are you researching the historical person for ? Is it for his or her bad side or for their good side ? Again it depends on the researcher. It all leads back to one's upbringing, character, and intent as to what they draw out of the research.

The books the radical left promote are full of pornographic scenes.

It’s the left that are “burning” normal books that have been a part of American education for decades.

awwww…..more self-righteous arrogance from the left. The parents objecting in Loudoun County are educated, as well - many more so than the teachers (who, btw, tend to have the lowest IQs of all college majors).

Agree, but what kind of societal character existed in the past, and what has the nation groomed as a society today ? That begs the question as to what kind of effect would this knowledge have upon a weak and confused (not grounded), society of today.

I'm not for banning historic literature that is within reason, but I am against adding book's that are detrimental to the health and well being of society. Seems that society has progressed into an era of making extreme errors when it comes to this stuff anymore. That's why we are seeing the extreme push back by parent's against the school system having it's way with their children now.

What kids learn from street gutter trash and from pool halls and porn sites doesn't have to be validated by establishments like public schools and public institutions like government.

If you live in a town full of idiots and degenerates, then you're just screwed; tough shit. It's not the Fed's job to do anything about it, and besides they can't do anything about that if they wanted to, since most of the education bureaucrats are degenerate idiots themselves.

They've gotten to the Bible, and now it's on to any other they have a disagreement with.

Your worship of the educator's without the content of what or how those educator's are conducting themselves is telling. The devil was one of the Angels who was a chief musician among other things, yet would you follow him into the pit because of these things ???
I do not believe in the devil or angels.

You need anger management.

You need to stop thinking projection is a good comeback. Speaking facts isn't anger', except in your tiny little brain; you beleive all that pop psychobabble really means something. Most Useful Idiots do.

A very true analogy.
