More actual enforcement by ICE. Starting to have some effect on employers.

"May well" has been noted for years.

Well, so much for that project. I wonder when the builder will walk away.

you'll rarely find any place more 'employee abusive' than the trades.....~S~

Enforcing the law has been so controversial lately.
Yes, because the economy has been build on not enforcing the law.

Enjoy.

When do you think that project will be completed?

I'm all in on employers being held responsible.

5 years ago, there was a discussion at My employer about hiring. We were 20% understaffed and the Mandatory O/T was getting out of hand. I worked for Senator Casey's sister and she and her company had no qualms about pushin 84 hour weeks for a half year at a time. The union was in her back pocket so they were no help in curbing the abuses.

My current employer had a lady in HR that walked all over the plant manager and pretty much ran the entire show. She said back then that they had no qualms in ignoring the I9 reporting requirement. I flat out told her that if she hires an illegal, I'd be on the phone two heartbeats later to ICE.

She no longer works here, not because of me but because she was blowing the production manager, and when the old plant manager quit, the new one actually listened to us, and the Production manager and the head of HR in this division were let go.

I will not tolerate working alongside an illegal.

Employers need to be held accountable too. They're knowingly hiring non citizens and quite potentially abusing them as well.
