The Trump Regime is tracking its critics on social media.

For those interested in this issue, excluding that dolt who goes by the name of Muhammed, please see the link to the Electronic Frontier Foundation. It explains in detail what the DHS is attempting and how to fight this government intrusion into our 1st amendment rights.

The Department of Homeland Security is expanding its efforts to identify Americans who oppose Immigration and Customs Enforcement by sending tech companies legal requests for the names, email addresses, telephone numbers and other identifying data behind social media accounts that track or criticize the agency.

In recent months, Google, Reddit, Discord and Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram, have received hundreds of administrative subpoenas from the Department of Homeland Security, according to four government officials and tech employees privy to the requests. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

Google, Meta and Reddit complied with some of the requests, the government officials said. In the subpoenas, the department asked the companies for identifying details of accounts that do not have a real person’s name attached and that have criticized ICE or pointed to the locations of ICE agents. The New York Times saw two subpoenas that were sent to Meta over the last six months.

If you are on social media and have criticized ICE, the federal government wants to know who you are. Your user name will not protect you.

It is starting with ICE but we all know it will expand to all critics of the Trump regime.

Inquiring minds want to know if USMB has been subpoenaed or will comply with a federal government subpoena?

Welcome to the beginning of the end of free speech.

The Regime apparently does not want to ban individuals from social media only track its critics, You can put any spin you want on it, but we are entering 3rd world territory.

We entered third world territory when the supposedly enlightened progressive liberals under Biden were banning peoples accounts on platforms for things the libs disagreed with (climate change, the jab, pedophilia, etc,...), firing people from their jobs because they refused to get the jab, firing people from their job because they are too conservative, burning down cities because they demanded their way, establishing hate crime legislation, etc, etc, etc,..

Following an account because of what they're posting is minor in comparison.

So the current administration is "tracking" critics?

The previous administration just colluded with the social media companies to ban opposing viewpoints! Howsa bout that Hunter laptop or Covid lab leak theory?

You idiot they are issuing administrative subpoenas. These subpoenas require no judicial oversight.

Dang, man. The leftards are so close but they just can't put two and two together.

Lefties need an education in political science. Maybe they think freedom means you get to smoke all the weed you want.

Tell me something, does Congress fund the Judiciary? Could they shut down the Judicial branch if they wanted to?

Agreed. But it never will. I think we can all agree on that. The question is now how bad will it get before the real violence begins.

Here's the problem: people aren't invested in the law. They're detached from it. Proof? How do they justify the "**** the law" bit? The excuse I always hear is "I never agreed to that". "No one ever asked me". And they're right, they have a point. No one ever did. They hate the institution of law by extension, because the laws seem arbitrary to them. And again, they have a point. Because they're made by people they never see but once every four years, who don't care about them except the month before the election every fourth year, and otherwise seem to screw them over every chance they get. And now the cops won't even show up anymore, so people are asking themselves the logical question. Why? Why have cops at all? Why have laws at all? Why pay for all this stuff if we're not going to use it?

People are no longer interested in the law because they now realize that the law is only used against them.

The ruling elite are above the law, so now you are going to see a general breakdown of society until vigilantism takes over.

That will steadily get worse until finally either the rule of law is returned and the elite are prosecuted fir their crimes, or a general civil war breaks out.

This is the nature of societies throughout history.

It doesn't say they're banning anyone on the internet.

I suspect they're after the ones who threaten or give away information about Ice.

So whine all you want.

FAFO!!!
