It's been 192 days since the House passed the $3 trillion HEROES Act, and 56 days since the House passed their compromise $2.2 trillion bill, both of which Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has refused to take up. McConnell sent his Republican Senate on Thanksgiving vacation last Thursday, after having spent the post-election week confirming unqualified Trump judges.

The one Trump administration official who at one point seemed to give a damn, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, has reverted to Republican form. He's sabotaging the economy right alongside his boss, cutting off emergency lending programs administered by Treasury and the Federal Reserve and trying to claw back uncommitted funds. To be an even bigger dick, Mnuchin is going to put the $455 billion he's clawing back into the General Fund, requiring future Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to get congressional authorization to use it.

Yes....China is on the way but they will not be the adults you want running a free country.....

Skews SEZ???? PLEASE read articles from the commie website"thedailykos"!!!!! They need the traffic!

That is easily one of the sorriest excuse for a website. It blatantly censors and blocks anyone that dares to question the veracity of their claims. that censors. ...but that is what commies do. There is nothing of value to be gained from that joke of a website....

No more stimulus.

Open the businesses back up.

Democrats have destroyed enough jobs.
With the rise in Covid 19 deaths, we should just open it all up, right? And wait for herd immunity, right? At what point are you going to change your mind? Is it when we exceed the total death count in 18 months that it took us 4 years to reach for WWII? Or are you going for a record to exceed the Civil War Dead.
STFU, Daryl Klunt, the way they count COVID deaths is if someone dies in a car wreck and they test positive with one of those pathetic testing kits that have even even shown "Positive" for fruit samples as being the cause of death. A body comes into the E.R with a bullet wound to the head and the cause of death is obviously suicide? Hold on there, pardner......that toe-tagged corpse tested "Positive" for COVID-19 which has the survival rate of 99.6 % but it is counted as a COVID death and the hospital receives a cool 30K if the dead man or woman is a senior....slightly less for anyone younger.

The death certificate for my dad that died in September listed the cause of death as COVID 19 and he had been in an assisted living facility where we were not allowed to visit with him unless behind plexiglass and wearing masks. He was 79 and had gone into organ failure due to all the pain meds he had taken over the years for a chronic back condition. I talked to my dad the day he died and he was lucid and had no lung issues nor needed a breathing apparatus but yet this facility claimed it was COVID and collects a cool 30K. Me and my brother are looking into filing a lawsuit against this facility for flat out lying. We don't want money but an admittance that they have been acting in a fraudulent manner to milk the system. SO STFU about COVID deaths and step off of that fragile pulpit you are speaking from, you disgusting sack of lying shit.

we do not need to add $2 trillion to the national debt when all that is required is to open up the economy and end the lockdowns
And stack the corpses like cordwood?

What are we going to do when we run out of medical space, equipment and personnel?
When is that projected to happen? Oh, yeah - never!

The Senate didn't take the latest because the Dem House loaded it with pork. If it had been a stand alone Chinese virus relief bill it would have been viewed and signed by the Senate and sent to Trump for signature.
I doubt if they even bothered to read it. Otherwise, it would have been sent to a committee whom would haven rewritten it, approved in in committee and sent the revised version back to the house. No, that never happened. Instead, a big read NO was stamped on it by Moscow Mitch the second it hit his desk and it went to the bottom of the "NO" file. But the Administration seems to have gotten more than 1.3 trillion trimmed from the original House bill before Baby Donnie went on his tantrum routine. I'll say it again, Baby Donnie wasn't the worst single person in DC, that prize goes, hands down, to Moscow Mitch. Stop making excuses for Moscow Mitch being the REAL Dictator in Washington. Baby Donny should take lessons from him.

Same thing with a late Uncle of mine. He too passed away in September from colon cancer and cause of death was listed as Covid. He couldn't walk so he never went anywhere, and everybody and anybody that came near him was tested or quarantined. Nobody else had it. Yet when he got to the hospital, they tested him and claimed he had Covid. Sorry about your loss.

Under the HEROES Act:

Joe US Citizen gets a $1200 check.

Jose' Illegal Alien gets a $2400 check.

Republicans will never allow that to happen. Pelosi knows that and refused to compromise because she did not want people getting a check before the election.

Democrats held Americans hostage for partisan political gain.

If it wasn't loaded with pork it would have been signed and sent to Trump. Since it was loaded with pork the Senate sent it back. Don't need a committee for that.
Yes you do need a committee to do that. That's the way it has worked for over 200 years and it's worked pretty damned well. It's only bee for the last 12 to 14 years that the system in DC has gotten so broken that it's no longer able to function.
No you don't need a committee to send a bill back. If it weren't loaded with Dem pork the Senate would have approved it and sent it to Trump.

The Senate won't waste its time with a committee. Take the Dem pork out and the bill would be signed already.
What you are calling Pork would normally be voted for by itself. That isn't what Pork is. And the parts that you find offensive are called riders and are designed to be negotiated one way over another. It's bargaining chips. It's the job of the Senate to provide an alternative bill to the House. At least it's been that way for over 100 years. And you wonder why there is a good chance that the Reps will lose the majority in the Senate com Jan. The New SEnate majority leader just may do what has been the tradition that has been done for more than 200 years that has kept Congress from just sitting there. But I guess it's more important to you that the Senate Reps get their well earned Vacation instead of hashing this out.

If Jose's illegal alien paid taxes then he should get it. It goes to ALL Taxpayers. If that is your bitch, fine. Instruct the Senate to introduce that into a counter bill and send it back to the House. Otherwise, it's just bitching and giving Moscow Mitch another free ride. No more free rides come Jan 3rd.

Give us a link to that one.
I cant find a link to $2 trillion

the highest I can find is $1 trillion

which makes me happy to have been wrong

As soon as biden gets in he has already said he is going to spend 2 trillion on global warming. Then put us back in the Paris agreement. Wonder how many billions that will cost us.
Treaties have to be approved by the Senate, so the Paris agreement is meaningless.

Yawn. Put your non partisan pants on Boi.

Nancy Pelosi blasts the White House's $1.8 trillion stimulus offer and lists 8 areas with 'deficiencies'
Old news. The final was the House at 1.2 trillion and Mnnuchin at 1 trillion and no word from the Senate. This was just before the election. Had there been no elections, the Administration and the House could have easily come to an agreement. But meanwhile, that so called vote by the Senate never happened. And Moscow Mitch was unavailable for the negotiations that the House and the Administration were doing. So we won't get any help until after Jan 20th, or at least until after Jan 3rd if Moscow Mitch gets replaced as Majority Leader. While I don't wish for the Reps to lose control of the Senate, I do want Moscow Mitch gone as Majority Leader. If it means 2 years of Dem Control then the Party of the Rump brought this blight onto all our heads.

Gotta laugh. If Pelousy and her Dems were worried about the tax payers they never would have loaded a stand alone Chinese virus relief bill with pork.

Guess we can all see what she thinks of the American tax payer.
Since you can't tell us what that Pork is, that means you "Pork" is right up there with Rudy's evidence.

So Republicans should agree to a bill that funds the Arts, nationally eliminates voter ID to vote, force all states to accept absentee ballots for 10 days after the election so Democrats have a new avenue to cheat, 225 billion to pay teachers to stay home and very little to spend on improving air quality in the schools, 417 billion to state and local Democrat areas that have overspent for many years with no oversight of the money, 120 billion for restaurants mostly focused on minority and female owned businesses? That's right, if you are a white guy who owns a restaurant, you might not get any money at all while your minority owned competitor gets help thus putting you out of business.
The way it's worked for Congress for better than 200 years is, no they don't have to agree with all that. They write their own counterbill and introduce that back to the House and so forth until there is a workable bill both agree with. You keep looking at the Riders which are nothing more than negotiating parts that can change. The Senate gets to add their own riders and take away some of the House riders. In the end, an agreement is usually found. It's worked that way for over 200 years successfully but Moscow Mitch was never the Majority Leader until only a few years ago and the Senate went on Vacations and just cashed their checks.

The 1 trillion wasn't from Moscow Mitch. That was from Mnuchin and the House's last counter was 1.2 trillion. Just before the election the House and the Adminstration were very close to a behind doors agreement. Who wasn't present? The Senate. The Senate (meaning Moscow Mitch) has a big nasty stamp of NO and already had given a 500 mil that both other sides called as completely unreasonable so the House and the Admin didn't invite them to the negotiations at all. Then the Election and we no longer had an Administration or President to conduct day to day business with.
Why should we spend even $500 billion more of borrowed money?

Because democrat mayors and governors FORCE citizens to sit at home instead of working
I suggest you take a good hard look at how Pendamics were handled by the US in the past and how we got over them. The only difference this time is the methods used.

I want someone in there that will clear the docket on bills that are sitting under his desk. His only response lately has been "NO" which takes away the other Senators ability to do their jobs. You like him because he blindly supports the Orange Deity you worship. Things are soon to change.

We haven't been 26 trillion dollars in debt and growing the past 200 years either. No pork. That's the way it should be. Piglosi's pork is about as much as our national defense budget. The Republicans have been able to get it down, but the buck stops at her. She could sign it and get help to Americans, but she's going to let them suffer to payoff her and the Democrat party voters.
