It's called Indoctrination. Brainwashing. Some pretending to be on the "right" are susceptible to it, too.
Those without moral underpinnings are especially vulnerable. The encroachment began over a century ago. Then they called it "pseudo-science" It's the same theory that threatens our nation today: there is no truth, and you can imagine and do anything you like.
My friends, I'm here to tell you there is truth. But things built upon wishful thinking and lies will always fail. We have to look squarely at the observable facts. If you feel the compulsion to distort the reality because the facts don't match your wishes, then you are headed in the wrong direction.
Today's brainwashing is made too easy by the internet. Those who wish to bend you to their will feel no moral pitfalls. They feel justified, especially if it brings them money, power, or fame. They use repetition and pleas to emotional conditions.
A particularly heinous indoctrination technique is used on POW's in order to extract information and even create agents. First, they humiliate you: "America was built on slavery! You are therefore a Bad Person!" Then they implant a suggestion when you are in a weakened state of mind: "You can redeem yourself by helping me with this small task..."
The Left are no longer liberals. They have been brainwashed into totalitarianism. You can always tell a for sure Indoctrinated person when they are unable to explain their positions. They often get nervous, because deep down inside, they know their belief system was installed into them without them putting in any rational thought. "Well, well, well....that's just how we feel!!! Leave me alone!"
The only real antidote is to become aware that you have been duped. Do your own rational research and reset yourself.
