The way it is being explained is that none of the players had an objection to wearing the pride rainbow. But some of them wrote the bible verse about God's promise of the rainbow. The complaint was that the players were coopting the pride rainbow for the Bible.

The reality is that in a TEAM SPORT you need to be a team. Statistically speaking there'll probably be two or three gay men on a team.
