MLB Players Forced to Endorse Homosexuality

See there you go.. calling anyone who's views you don't like.. a bigot. It's an opinion on what is a sin that you don't like. Fornication, polygamy, masturbation.. all sins in the Christian theology. Would you like to deman a public SHOW of tolerance for all sexual sin.. in order to protect the feelings of people who do these things? How far should we take the "pride symbol" idea? Show of hands, who hear wants a Polygamy Pride Month?

It's not that I don't like their views. I don't like bigoted views, that is true.

What is a bigot?

"a narrow-minded person who obstinately adheres to their own opinions and prejudices

especially : one who strongly and unfairly dislikes or feels hatred toward others based on their group membership"

"One who is strongly partial to one's own group, religion, race, or politics and is intolerant of those who differ."

So, essentially a bigot is someone who doesn't like people who are different to them.
A hatred towards other groups.

You say it's an opinion on what a sin is, the problem is that that "opinion" seems to be rather fluid.

Religious people will hate gay people because "da Bible say so", but then when the Bible says that adulterers are also bad, you go elect one as president.

To use religion as a tool to try and legitimize your hatred of gay people, it's still bigotry. It's still hatred for them. It still meets the definition of "bigot" whether you like the word or not.

lol… blacks joining the military is the gateway to level up their career rather than the vicious cycle of crime and poverty.
Great. The US has managed to create ghettos, and then find that the best way of getting out of the ghetto is to be sent to die in rich white people's wars on the other side of the world.

Isn't that a convenient way for the poor rich people to sleep easy at night?

So you’re saying if workers who refused to embrace gay pride is not a team player?
What does embracing pride have anything to do with being a team player when only end results matter. When was the last time a sports team is given a trophy for commitment or conviction when competing.

Depends on how you define "embrace", I guess.

Mostly I'm saying that just need to accept that people are different, that they can do whatever they like in their own bedrooms. Who they sleep with (within consenting adults) is none of your ******* business.

Why you think about gay people having sex is beyond me. Do you think about your parents ******* on the sofa all day?

I hate to say it, but I agree that private companies should not involve themselves in politics or cultural issues. Bad move for MLB. Focus on the baseball experience.

This isn't acceptance, it's demands that they're celebrated whether you like it or not.

Forcing your employees to espouse beliefs they may not agree with isn't being on a team. It's coercion.

Are they forcing them to "espouse beliefs"????

The problem with this argument is that, I go to work, and there's a gay person at work, so I sue my employer for forcing me to not lynch the gay guy at work. "Oh, it goes against my beliefs, I should have gay forced down my throat every day."

That's not how it works. You go to work, you have to accept the people you work with.

You don't have to like it, but you have to accept different people. You have to accept people are different.

You can't go around demanding everyone fits into your views.

Human Rights are essentially "you can do whatever you want, as long as you don't harm others", the idea is you're free up until the point when you interact with others, and then your rights and their rights collide. Whose rights come out on top? Well, neither really, both people are then forced to submit (might be the wrong verb, whatever) to the fact that the other person should not be harmed. Within normal society that "harmed" becomes something weaker. We should try and get along with those we work with, even if we don't like that person.

I don't like the ****** from Mississippi, I no longer talk socially to the guy, but I tolerate him when he talks work to me, I don't go up to his face and tell him I hate him. That's life.

I certainly don't agree with his views either.
