You get what you reap when you vote Democrat.
Give it to ‘em good and hard.

After the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers (MFT) and MPS struck a deal on March 25 to end a 14-day teacher strike, the two sides drew up and ratified a new collective bargaining agreement complete with various proposals.

One of the proposals dealt with “educators of color protections.” The agreement states that if a non-white teacher is subject to excess, MPS must excess a white teacher with the “next least” seniority.

“Starting with the Spring 2023 Budget Tie-Out Cycle, if excessing a teacher who is a member of a population underrepresented among licensed teachers in the site, the District shall excess the next least senior teacher, who is not a member of an underrepresented population,” the agreement reads.

Finally they have some actual systemic racism they can point to.
Coming from a far left teachers union in a far left state, they'll be pointing at themselves in a mirror.
Go figure

This is in direct violation of federal EEOC regulations. I can't wait to see the financial settlements. BLM rioters are not the only ones who can claim the largesse from the poor taxpayers of Mnpls.

None of the offers presented for final approval in March were what you are claiming.

MPS said it shared its “last, best, and final” offer on Sunday that includes: 2% cost of living increases, with up to 12% raises for new teachers, in year one of the contract and 2% increases for all in the second year.

  • Increase starting wages for 85% of current ESPs to $23 per hour or more, bringing most full-time ESPs close to $35,000 annually.
  • Increase wages over two years between 8.2% and 34.6% (depending on job classification), with an average increase of 15.6%.
  • Move the lowest-paid ESPs from $15.45 per hour to $18 per hour.
  • Pay ESPs $6,000 in bonuses ($3,000 in each of the next 2 years).
  • $3.5 million to additional hours for ESPs.
  • Four additional paid duty days for professional development.
  • 29,000 Minneapolis kids without school for 10th day as teachers strike

Black shoe polish for the win.

Race based rules, policies, regulations, laws.... are unconstitutional.
Left Wingers are dumb.
This looks like the racist Democrats are trying to start an Apartheid system in Minneapolis.
There are a lot of non-racist school districts that will be glad to hire those Teachers who are being discriminated against.

Silly plebe, laws are for little people.

There are also seniority and placement rights for associate educators who are majority people of color. Laden said that means about half their unit — hundreds of educators of color — will now have job protections, seniority and placement rights similar to what other licensed teachers in the union currently have.

Sounds like they're doing them a favor.

Who would want to work where they are not wanted.

No one can be productive in a toxic workplace.
I think America is getting ready for a new paradigm in public education and it can't arrive too soon. Most parents have neither the time nor skill set to teach multiple subjects in a consistent, effective way but if they join with others in their neighborhoods, they can fund tutors or teachers who left the public system voluntarily to teach core subjects and whose only goal is helping all of these children become proficient in the skills needed for life in our country.

The NEA will of course fight school choice with all of their considerable means but choice is the only way forward. Put a dollar value for each student in public schools and refund that amount per student for their choice of substitute. Payment in voucher form and only to properly licensed and accredited teachers. Annual testing of students to continue in such environments by proving the teacher can get the kids the education the state requires. Oh, and that list needs to be based on fundamental skills other than appropriate pronoun use.
