Minneapolis mayor - "we have these assault rifles that can reel off 30 clips in conjunction with a magazine "

A fascist is one that threatens your job unless you take a vaccine, tells you what kind of energy you can use or what kind of car you can drive and mandates that your children must sit through readings from men in dresses and makeup whether your kids like it or not.
A fascist throws people in concentration camps, threatens his critics with prison and looks the other way when his supporters commit crimes, all of which Trump has done.

M855 is semi armor piercing, just so you know.
True, but, as far as I know, it does not have the steel/tungsten rod in the center of the projectile. I do not think it is my imagination, but have noticed groupings are not as tight, and have actually missed silhouette at 400 meters, plus looking at paper targets at lower ranges, have actually observer bullet entry sideways, instead of nice hole. So, my personal opinion is the actual black tip is less accurate, which I attribute to the penetrator rod. I have seen this discussed, and attributed to the rod slight off center, and the spin of the bullet, not having enough distance to stabilize the projectile in flight. Though the weapon feels the same on recoil, whether green tip or black tip, I am not as accurate with the black tip ammo, I have fired. I do not anticipate actually needing enhanced armor piercing capability, but want as much accuracy as possible. My bulk stock ammo is the 62 Grain M855. I do not keep any 55 grain ammo, believing one should practice with the ammo, one might need to use.

What is the rate of twist for your barrel?

Yes but-----these assault rifles have been involved in so many SHOOT UPS. I see legalization of
automatic weapons with those MAGAZINES of bullets something like "scheduled drugs" Some
people play with drugs "recreationally" without harm----but the fact is that there is a HUGE
amount of harm -----from the self inflicted damage to the "user" to organized crime----THUS
drugs have to be CONTROLLED by law
You mean semi-auto. Automatic (or select fire) firearms are HIGHLY regulated.

Historically pistols were the preferred arm for mass shootings. That appears to have changed.

You mentioned confiscation of guns in the 1930s first. You’re playing checkers, son!
You mentioned fascists first. Were you perhaps thinking of Mussolini? Maybe Franco? Hardly! I know who you were referring to.

No he hasnt list for us the cases that support your claim.

If I was thinking of anyone it was Mussolini. See the similarity?

I have not noticed an appreciable difference in 55/62 NATO ammunition in my 20" 1:8 stainless target barrel out to 300yds.
westwall asked about your twist - what barrel do you have?
Field grade ammo, even with a good barrel, will usually produce field-grade results.

I get no particular thrill anymore at what I term spray and prey, having fired so much automatic fire weapons, on so many ranges, at various targets. I will be 71 in less than two weeks. I will not be kicking in doors and suppressing any room. I am more into accuracy at distances with my 18" heavy barrel, and being able to quickly acquire, stabilize and let muscle memory and repetition take over, making me more accurate on first and second shot the people that blow their ammunition budget, sending automatic rounds down range as it is badass. While I don't care if somebody else does, it just isn't my bag, so I don't really care.

What people who have not committed crimes been put into prison? As far as threatening critics with prison, are you referring Trump wanting to put Climate Change critics and COVID critics in jail….. oh wait, those are Democrats that want to do that. How about people who want to burn the Quran as a protest the same way people burn Bibles out of protest. Oh - that was Hillary Clinton’s suggestion.

It's just that "custom built" and AR really does not go together as you are just building one up from a collection of parts you happen to like. ;)

I wanted a very lightweight AR and built with that in mind but it's hardly "custom built". I just put the parts together. Putting a barrel on the receiver is about as "complicated" as it gets with them.
True. I modified no parts, but it is unlikely you will find a manufacturer, that made the same selections for an off the rack mass market offering. I could have bought, off the rack, a lot cheaper, but not better.

Odd though, it still won't bring better than $400.00 in trade these days, no matter the primo parts.....Build it, keep it!

I Don't think so, as ammunition seems to make all the difference. Are you getting the same accuracy on impact, as you switch between the 3 basic ammo types in 5.56 at various range distances?

I am willing to learn or at least consider, if you have something verifiable to teach. I had excellent instruction, and have given weapon marksmanship instruction to hundreds, if not thousands, on small arms qualification ranges, but always willing to learn.

No, they still are.
