I wanted higher grade on some components than others, so I chose carefully from three different manufacturers for the heavy barrel, the upper receiver and the bolt, when I built it. If you want what you want, don't buy it off the gun store wall, build it. It ain't rocket science.

It's just that "custom built" and AR really does not go together as you are just building one up from a collection of parts you happen to like.

I wanted a very lightweight AR and built with that in mind but it's hardly "custom built". I just put the parts together. Putting a barrel on the receiver is about as "complicated" as it gets with them.

There have been exactly zero mass shootings in the US involving an assault rifle.

On average, per year, over the last 40 years, 3-4 'assault weapons' are used to kill 12-16 people.
