No. The internment of Japanese Americans was a shameful travesty, but the internees were not worked to death as slaves, had gruesome medical experiments carried out on them, or were simply killed on arrival.

One factor that did affect the decision to intern Japanese Americans was the Niʻihau incident.

On December 7, 1941, a Japanese pilot whose Zero had been hit crash-landed on the island hoping to rendezvous with a rescue submarine. The pilot was apprehended and later escaped with the assistance of local Japanese residents,

So the Japanese living on the island gave allegiance to a Japanese pilot rather than to America. At the time it was not known if Japan would try to invade the Western US states, but given the example on Niʻihau, it is understandable that FDR did not want to take the risk of a 5th column.
