If you've spent a decade and a half working in a department and you've only become a "low level supervisor" then it's pretty obvious that you're either a world class idiot or you show up and just go through the motions because you know it's almost impossible to bet fired from a Public Sector job!

As for why they made that other guy your boss? Isn't it obvious? He's probably BEEN showing up early and staying late! When you do that in the Private Sector you tend to get promoted.

My boss was one of our machine sales guys. He was failing so they put him in aftermarket/machine sales now he's just machine sales. Not totally his fault it's his territory, but that you know is no excuse. What I'm getting at is that a lot of times managers are former doers who weren't that great at doing but they were good at managing maybe.

You'd be stupid to make me a sales manager. You can't manage someone to do what I do. I go above and beyond. 99 out of 100 guys don't do what I do.

My boss is pretty good too to be honest. Younger than me, wants to be management and build a resume. I just want to work 11 more years and the President knows it. I'm the company bulldog. Every company needs a guy like me and wishes they had 10. But for whatever reasons, I'm not management material. I could be but I don't care to be. And he knows that. I admit it.

But I do what I do very well and get paid well for it. So I stay in my lane. I took a chance once on something in 2000. Biggest mistake of my life but I guess it led me to this job so I'm not sour about it. I'm making up for lost time $ now.

But you know what they say. I'd have more now if I saved $10K back then than if I save $20K now.

I just took my quad in for a full overhaul. My brother uses the shit out of it. I'm not sponging. It's nice to have a rich relative but I don't sponge. I pull my weight. More than most would. I don't have one and sit at the top of my pay grade for title, boss make less than 5,000 more than I do for many more headaches. New hires never last and most who quit write they were not getting enough praise for doing their jobs during their exit interviews. I would have had to borrow to continue in college and that did not make sense to me when I could enter the workforce making decent money.
