Simple poll.

Do you support the Trump Administration decision to extend military honors to Ashley Babbitt's family?

Please include a post with Branch, Approximate Period of Service, and Status.

Yes.
Navy and Reserve 1978-2001 Honorable discharge as O-4. Surface Warfare Officer and Submarines (Enlisted)

She was never charged with violating military rules and regulations and received an honorable discharge. That is all that is required.

US Army, 11 years. Five reserve, six years active duty.

Yes, she was a veteran; she deserves honors. What she did was stupid and cost her her life, but she still deserves the honors.

Honors are not for the dead, they are for the living.

She was essentially murdered in the nation's capital while fighting what she thought was a stolen election, so yeah.

1st Bn 2nd Marines, 2nd Mar Div, CLNC 81-85

Well, that was stupid.

That she believed a con man who couldn't take that he lost, shame on her.

And the video's i've seen of her show a woman who was clearly unravelling due to mental health issues.

But she still served, and her family deserves the honors.

(On a side note, have they been keeping her on ice somewhere waiting for this to get resolved?)

Because our oath is support and defend the Constitution of the United States. She was attempting to interfere with the Constitutional mandated function of Congress to count the Electoral Votes in joint session.

Her action violated that oath and extending military honors to her brings discredit on the oath to serve.

(Remember, you asked. Feel free to disagree Rock.)

She didn’t die in combat or in a support position, but at a national disgrace built on a lie.

Nor did she die from the health effects of military service such as Agent Orange, toxic burns of waste or brain injuries seen by rapid response SEALS.

She created her own death by believing a lie of a grifter.

No.

1. she is long-since buried

2. she participated in the storming of the US Capitol Building on January 6, 2021

My farther served with distinction and retired USN MCPO. He was given full military honor

Um, except she was still a veteran.

I never saw combat the whole time I was in. I still expect to get the flag over my coffin. I don't know if I'll request an Honor Guard (I'm not even sure how that is done, exactly).

Yes, she goofed up. She made a very bad decision (a series of them) and it cost her her life.

But again, Honors are for the grieving family, not the dead.
