Michael. Remember That Name. Trump Employee 2 -- Molly Michael.

Smith's indictment against Trump alleges that Trump asked one of his attorneys at the time, "Wouldn't it be better if we just told them we don't have anything here?"

Speaking to federal investigators, Michael recounted how, by late 2021, as many as 90 boxes of materials from Trump's time as president were moved into a basement storage room at Mar-a-Lago, and how -- as pressure from the National Archives mounted -- she and Trump aide Walt Nauta would bring boxes to Trump's residence for him to review.

...

The indictment also accuses Trump of trying "to obstruct the FBI and grand jury investigations" by, among other things, providing "just some of the documents called for by the grand jury subpoena, while claiming that he was cooperating fully."

In her statements to investigators, as described by sources to ABC News, Michael noted that when the FBI first contacted her for an interview as part of their investigation last year, she notified Trump about the request. In response, he told her, "You don't know anything about the boxes," she told investigators, according to the sources.

...

In addition, after the Justice Department weeks later issued a second subpoena for security camera footage from inside Mar-a-Lago, Trump tried to have some of that footage deleted "to conceal information from the FBI and grand jury," the indictment alleged.

Alongside Trump, the indictment also charged Nauta and the other Trump aide, Carlos de Oliveira, for their alleged roles in the conspiracy to hide classified documents from the FBI.

The above story shows us how it's not looking good for any defense by Trump's team. Not good. Not good at all. When trials starts, Hunter Biden's trouble might be brought up again and again by MAGA Republicans, but that will not be a legal argument.

This all reads like a really, really poorly written novel. The characters involved are weak, and the protagonist?

There were two remarkable revelations. First, that Michael had been sent work-related messages by Trump, like to-do lists, that were written on the back of notecards that contained classified briefing material from his time as president. Second, that Trump had told Michael that she “[didn’t] know anything about the boxes.”

Michael is understood to be the “Trump Employee 2” identified in the Florida indictment. That would put her at the center of the effort to the National Archives and Records Administration’s (NARA) attempts to get Trump to return material he’d removed from the White House — material stored at Mar-a-Lago in dozens of bankers’ boxes.

In May 2021, a NARA representative contacted Trump’s attorneys seeking information about material that was unaccounted for, including Trump’s communications with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. That same month, according to the indictment, Trump asked that boxes he’d removed from the White House be stored in a room down a hallway from the pool at the resort.

Mar-a-Lago 'Direct Witness' Strengthens Case Against Donald Trump

Trump's former aide Molly Michael told federal investigators, per ABC, that the former president used the back of visibly classified documents at Mar-a-Lago to write her to-do lists "as if they were scrap paper," said journalist Jonathan Karl.

After receiving a subpoena from the Department of Justice (DOJ) to turn over classified documents believed to be at Mar-a-Lago, Trump and his team returned only some documents. However, an FBI raid at the Florida resort last summer found hundreds more documents still kept at Mar-a-Lago.
By law, a former president is obliged to return all presidential material to the National Archives after the end of their term.

MAGA Lawyer Lin Wood Flips Against Trump In Georiga Racketeering Case.

One of Donald Trump’s former lawyers flipped on him in the Georgia indictment, new court documents revealed Wednesday.

Lin Wood was one of the first to promote the falsehood that the 2020 presidential election had been stolen. He was part of Trump’s legal team that unsuccessfully tried to overthrow the election. The Georgia grand jury had recommended Wood be charged for trying to overturn the state’s election results, but Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis declined to do so.

Turns out that was because Wood opted to flip on his former boss. “L. Lin Wood is a witness for the State in the present case,” Willis explained in a court filing.
