“After Meta and its CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a series of changes that shifted the company and its policies to the right ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s second term, some users are fleeing the company’s platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp.

In the barrage of changes made in recent weeks, the company ended its third-party fact-checking program in the United States and said it would pull back on content moderation around political discourse. Instead, Meta will use a community notes system similar to Elon Musk’s X. Updates to Meta’s policy on hateful conduct include that LGBTQ people can now be called mentally ill because of their identities. Meta also disbanded its diversity, equity and inclusion team.

Zuckerberg isn’t the only Big Tech billionaire currying favor with the incoming president. Musk and Jeff Bezos will both be seated in prominent spots at Trump’s inauguration Monday. But Meta’s changes, along with Zuckerberg’s personal appeals to Trump, have caused a cascade of reactions among its users.

NBC News reviewed hundreds of posts and comments across various social media platforms that said users would delete their Meta accounts, stop posting or boycott the company in response to the changes. The exodus is reminiscent of when X (formerly Twitter) users left the platform in large numbers after the 2024 election.”

Interesting that ending third-party fact-checking is welcomed by the right; conservatives fear facts and the truth.

Absent fact-checking, conservatives are at liberty to spread disinformation and lies.

And the conduct policy change allows conservatives to post rightwing hate speech with impunity.

So free speech is “right wing” now?

That says a lot about how much the “liberals” have gone off the rails.

If they can’t control your speech or silence it, you’re “right wing” for voicing an opinion contrary to theirs.

Majority of "third party fact checkers" are not objective, they tend to have Left to Hard-Left bias.

We already knew you lean in favor of censorship of the non-Left, Komrade CCJ.

It’s pretty unbelievable that subtards like the OP think Zuckerberg is “rightwing” for simply getting rid of Orwellian methods of free speech suppression.

I wonder how the CIA will react to these assets apparently having been taken over ?

Those silly Fact Checking sites had served their short term purpose . Only morons still believe they have anything to do with real and honest checking .
So your point is now redundant . You do not retain something that is universally ridiculed.

When he was young minded he was more democrat. He is coming into his manhood more with his children's future on his mind and he is more a conservative. He is not what he used to be. He is pro-life, and pro-republican.

Aside from God, no man can be trusted - Bible

I found it hard to watch him on Rogan. He is fake as. I don’t believe anything he says. Facebook is a disease. I hate what’s app and instagram too.. fail.

Mel Gibson on Rogan is brilliant though, worth the time. 😀

1) what if the 3rd party fact check sites are left biased?

2) the left was fine with being able to post anything they wanted about the right, with impunity. Most of which could be considered hate speech.

You don’t like a policy of a company, boycott, it is good for both sides. Twitter, now X went bankrupt after Musk bought it and everyone left, so…oh wait, they are still around. I guess it really doesn’t make a difference, so in the long run, leave Facebook, leave instagram no one really cares.
