I wanted to be among the first, now that Thanksgiving is past, to wish all of youze a very Merry Christmas.

And the very first to wish you a Merry Christmas 2025. (A bit early, you say? I agree. But it does make me the first.)

So you've been watching the early Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel too, I see. My wife's been watching them since last Fall, and they're about to drive me nuts.

It'll be a Very Merry Trumpian Christmas this year.
The 12th Day of Christmas (The Day of The Epiphany) falls on Monday, January 6 2025.
Inauguration Day marks Epiphanytide.
January 21st, Trump's first whole day in office comes exactly one week before the Mardi Gras.

Mardi Gras is on Mar. 4 in 2025. Ash Wednesday is on Mar. 5. You had me going. I think you are confusing Mardi Gras with Lunar New Year which falls on Jan. 29. I'm not sure if Chinese New Year and Lunar New Year are the same. I get differing results when I search. They say that most of the time they are the same, but some countries claim they are different days.

Must be a calendar thing. In 2017, Mardi Gras fell on Feb 28 and I assumed since J6 was the same day of the week as then, so would be next year's Mardi Gras.
So next year, MG will be four days later than I thought.

There is no way I watch Hallmark Channel. Every one of their movies is the same. And it’s all directed at women anyway.

But I like the actual spirit of this season.

Merry Christmas.

Same cast, same script, same scenario, same location, same music, same ending.

Watching a Hallmark Christmas movie makes me feel like Bill Murray in the movie "Groundhog Day."

You must have been distracted---you said "a week after Jan. 21." But yeah, Mardi Gras is based on Easter that somehow is based on the moon. Thats why Easter is on a different day every year.

Lol...true! And usually the very same Canadian actors, playing different roles. BORING!
