Who's getting (or has already received) a Christmas/ year end bonus

Were you satisfied?

I could never really count myself among that crowd.

When I worked for the state we got the same thing the convicts got:

A bag of hard candy, a bag of nuts, two oranges, and Merry Christmas on our pay stub.

DuPont threw us a really nice catered dinner and a $50 gift card sometimes but due to the loons in HR it varied.

One year they gave us a gallon paint can full of some kick ass Christmas cookies. People bitched but I liked it. I found out where they got them and bought baked goods from them for years till they went out of business.

The funny one was when they gave everyone a darn Poinsettia. We took them and piled them neatly around the DuPont sign at the plant entrance......Looked pretty festive.....They left it up till New Years. ;)

Bonuses are regular where I am at, although they tend to occur in January and are associated with annual performance appraisals.

However, years ago I was working for a place that gave routine Christmas bonuses, and it worked out perfect one year. I didn't have a lot of money back then and my refrigerator quit on December 20th. I was trying to figure out where I was going to scrape together enough to afford a new fridge. Two days later I got a Christmas bonus check for $650, and a new fridge that evening.

Years ago, back when companies threw actual PARTY Christmas parties, not boring speeches and cheering the company rather than the holiday - sooo much fun. Real parties, with bands - open bar and the much anticipated "Money Tree" where throughout the party envelopes of money were all over a large Christmas tree, and they would call names between songs etc. 100s of envelopes were given away, Ranging from $500 - $100.
LOL....They made the mistake of having a open bar at one of the early Christmas parties the year after the plant start-up. It was held at a local ball room.

Well, most all of the 1st line supervisors were former union hacks DuPont had promoted at the Philly plant and transferred here.

They got all drunked-up and got to fighting between themselves.....It was an all out brawl and the cops were called. The plant manager had to go and bail them out of jail....Best Christmas party ever! :laughing0301:

After that the event was held at the plant's lunch room and no alcohol was served.

One year the sales manager - she was hot. In her late 40s, but an absolute milf. She got drunk, got up on a table and danced all sexy, pulling her skirt up, rubbing her hands all over her body... legendary!!! People talked about it for 15 years! Granted it was well into the night, all the fuddies long went home, but there was still at least 50 people there.
Hilarious!

Last year I got a bonus of $650. It increases each year, so I'll probably get $700 this year. Of course, I'll just break even as I give my two kids $300 each for Xmas. No gifts, just money.

Those crazy late 40's women.

We had a Christmas party at the supermarket I worked at in high school. One of the checkers and I went into the stock room where we made out for a while. Sadly, nothing more came of it. I think that was the only Xmas party I ever went to at a place where I worked.

I was given $23.00 at the Christmas party for my job. I got $20.00 last year.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. I never know what to expect no matter what the occasion is or isn't. I just work and appreciate whatever is given to me in return.

My Christmas bonus comes from my car insurance company. This year it was almost $700. I have been with the same insurance company for my car and homeowners' insurance (when I had a house) for 42 years. They do it every December.

i've worked for myself for decades........so my xmas bonus is shutting the phone off........and a little top shelf.......:dev3:.~S~

I haven't worked with any company since the 90's that ever gave a bonus for ANYTHING.
