This is aero industry for "Manufacturer Equipment List".
IT is the detailed list of equipment required on any one given aeroplane in order for it to meet flight safety rules. Many people won't fly any airline if the MEL does not include a coffee maker.
However, certain Boeing aircraft do have optional items to the MEL coffee maker.
For instance, I never fly My 738 without the Draak..
No self respecting Capitan would!
