(Medicaid is) "Not for Twenty-nine Year Old Males Sitting on their Couch Playing Video Games." At Last, a Senior Republican says . . .

I didn't hear the word "all"

So because some are actually disabled the ones that are unemployed lazy ***** should get a pass?
Those who meet the requirements listed in #9 should get Medicaid. That is the law. If you don't like that, get your representatives to change it.

That law has been in effect for quite a while. Nothing has been moved.

And that's the purpose of DOGE, to get the ball rolling.

First expose the bullshit, then have Trump fix it as much as he can. then ask congress to fix it.

If dems block any fixes, point it out during the 2026 midterm campaign.

I’m sure the large percentage of 29 year olds who are paraplegics will be protected from cuts, lest the Democrats wheel them in front of a camera for a tear/filled 10 second PSA style campaign ad.

For what it is worth, there are plenty of jobs that paraplegics can do. Perhaps the federal government should have recruited them for desk jobs, instead of insisting on non-binary partner-free birthing person of color.

Why didn’t that 29-year-old paraplegic that You are so concerned about apply for “remote work” with uncle Sam?

If he can play video games, he can do actual work.

Which part of the pie are we looking to address?

44% fulltime are working
20% parttime are working
12% are caring for children or parents
10% Disabled
7% in school
4% are unemployed
4% retired/other

This is who Medicaid is for. If that doesn't suit you, then change the laws.
To qualify for Medicaid, you must meet certain criteria:

Apparently you are unfamiliar with "expanded" medicaid, which was established as part of the Obamacare Atrocity aka the "ACA"? These provision allowed federal funding of medicaid benefits for all adults, not just old timers or people with disabilities or are taking care of children. Even if they are living in mom's basement with their Obama posters spending their days playing video games, they can get benefits.

Although not for long, and America looks to roll back the travesties of the Obama Regime.

There is no part of the pie that says “are lying about the above.” Why is that?

Let’s see, I would address the 4% who are unemployed by telling them “hey! get a job.”

The 20% working part time I would say “hey, get a full-time job! “

The 12% caring for children, I would say “hey get your tubes tied.”

For the 7% who are in school I would say “hey get a job and work your way through school, like I did!”

For the 10% disabled, I would take that case by case. If your disability is PTSD caused by the election of Donald Trump, I would say “just get a job.”

But really, a well thought out work requirement would take care of most of those. It should be the burden of the recipient to prove that they are unable to work.

Let's take one of your insane comments at a time. Part time college jobs do not offer healthcare dipshit. If you are making and living on $25,000 parttime income while going to school how are you supposed to pay $5,000-$7,000 a year for healthcare insurance?

Here's a perspective:

Liberals measure the success of a program by how many people are in it, getting benefits.
Conservative measure the success of a program by how many people don't need it.

In this case, why doesn't a healthy 29-year-old have a job?
That’s a BS analysis. Of course the less people that need gov assistance the better, everybody can agree with that. But for those who need it trying to provide the best access and care possible is the objective of who you characterize as the left…. Although I know many good hearted conservatives who care about that as well.

Why doesn’t a 29 year old have a job? Too many possible reasons to list. How is that relevant? It’s not like denying him Medicare is going to magically make him get a job

Bill him for it.

Deduct 25% from every federal, state, or local goverment check he ever gets until it’s paid off.

Good Gawd yall! Did you really think we the 90% would be held hostage to that kind of poor poor pitiful me claims on our hard earned money?
Great, bill him for it. He files bankruptcy or his parents lose their house. Their credit goes to shit. The bills still need to be paid, who takes on that liability?

15th post
Who cares?

He is 29 and able to work. But in your world, I guess the moment he is rightly removed from the program, he will get suddenly sick and require 100's of thousands of dollars in medical expenses.

It's laughable.

He can get a job, if he is smart -- doubtful but who cares -- he'll get a job with medical insurance and can start paying his own way in life.
Is a simple matter of logistics. If XX happens then how is it handled? You want to not provide medical coverage for a guy with no income, Fine. If he gets sick or in a accident it will trigger a series of events. You should have answers for how these events should be handled and paid for. If you’re in this thread engaging it should be the discussion you want to have… not avoid

Ok genius. A 60 year old woman is caring for her 63 year old husband suffering from Alzheimer's. They don't have enough money for in home care or enough to put him in a home so she is caring for him 24/7 at home. Once they get 65 Medicare kicks in but what happens for then next 5 years of her life? Answer: Medicaid.

A 40 year old single mom has a permanently disabled kid that needs around the clock supervision. What now? Answer: Medicaid.

How do you guys live your lives slandering everyone in the federal government as losers and everyone on Medicaid as blood sucking losers and everyone of color as someone who hasnt earned their job? The answer is that you are an insecure loser who has done nothing in your life but suck off the government. Most of you assholes are taking home Social Security you didnt pay for.

That’s why my advice was “hey, get a full-time job,” Shit for brains.

What are you talking about the one about “0h, I’m in school so I have to have Medicaid!” I finished college with a stay at home wife and two kids. I worked at UPS which did offer health insurance to part-time workers.

It was very hard work, unloading trailers that have been sitting in the Texas sun all day. I did it so that my family could have medical care while I finished my education.

Meanwhile, my tax money was being taken to support people in college for double digit years with no degree yet on student loan playing video games and smoke weed.

If that’s you, I’m sorry, but the gravy train is over

It might be time to rethink whether college is suitable for you if you are not smart enough to devise an answer to that question.

Not every woke crybaby needs a degree in gender studies or critical race theory. As far as I know, they don’t check for that when they are professional protesters.

Obviously, this is very personal for you, which means you are a recipient of Medicaid. Just get a job dude, your life is changing thanks to Donald Trump.

As Speaker Johnson said, there is dignity and work for all, so it will be a change for the better whether you realize it or not.
