My guess is that the poorest in town have been promoted into thinking the data center is bad and those promoters (whoever they are) likely paid for the signs.

The Utility that provides much of the power to my part of Virginia said our bills will likely go up another 15% due to the strain Data Centers are putting on them.....That's on top of the 12% it's already gone up.
