Yes, it is helpful for teachers to be aware of such things.

Some states have a very corrupt Children's "Services" Dept

that enables state workers to remove children for stupid reasons.. the kid has no bedroom of his own or whatever... (a problem poor families have, but I slept in a bedroom with 2 other siblings and it not only didn't hurt me but did me good.. taught me to live with the differences btwn me and them).

There was a story in a magazine years ago that highlighted this problem, how the state would remove children for flimsy (or no) reason and then sell the child to some rich person who couldn't have children the normal way. These days with in vitro... but whatever...

Yes, that is very true.

If I didn't dream it, there was a story about a state that decided that people who report abuse to CPS would be referred to police. That's a far better approach. If someone has committed a crime against their child, then the police can report that to CPS.

This whole "I don't like the way you raise your kid, so that's abuse" has gotten completely out of hand and it is ruining the lives of adults and kids.

for sure. I never heard of that referring to the police thing, but that makes sense. Only crimes against children should ever involve removing them from a home. I know of a case where 4 children were removed from a mother who loved her children dearly. But an abusive, violent boyfriend of hers (violent only toward her, not the children) seemed like a HUGE problem to the "protective" agency in that state and they removed them. All the children were affected adversely by being separated from their mother and one was separated from his siblings as well. That one at first had an emotional break down but no one in the system seemed to care... and long-story-short.. he ended being a murderer.

I figured out a long time ago that Blacks (generally speaking) do not want to have much fellowship with Whites.. unless they realize that shunning them altogether is not going to work out for them vis a vis getting ahead in life.

So now we are already separated by this kind of thing... and here come the dims to make such relations (lack thereof) worse...
