Maryland Woman Calls ICE On Illegals In The Crew Working On Her House

Unfortunately humankind has quite the history of destroying their societies IF given enough time to do so. From the Akkadian empire vs. the barbarians, Egyptian empire vs. the supernatural, Grecian empire vs. themselves, Roman empire down in flames as the bloody Khan dynasty made it's debut just to get humiliated by the Ottoman empire which itself got handled by the end of WW1. In the 1930's/40's the British empire got slapped around by Adolf & Hirohito until both the Japanese & German empires plus Mussolini's Italy got flushed down the drain pipe, just in time for the soviets to rise to prominence on the world stage. When the USSR went down in the 80's America saved them from extinction to give them a 2nd chance. Now it's the 2nd rise of global islam to bring back their former ottoman empire to rule the world. I left a LOT of history out like Alexander the Great etc. but the point is that human history always repeats itself, eventually.

.

Not a very accurate map, as it doesn't include the muslim invasion of the European continent.

Do you have evidence she knew prior to hiring the company?

What evidence did she have at the end of the job on day 3 that she didn't have on day 1 when they showed up to replace her roof?

So she wanted HER cheap labor and waited until the job was nearly finishe, then called ICE.

Again, arresting roofers as opposed to the "sleeper cells".

Well she was, around these folks for three days. Something she didn’t have before. Time to over hear conversations,.

Now if she knowingly hired illegals she too should be prosecuted, just like if the company knowingly hired illegals

Either way, I’m fine with the outcomes

#1 I'm fine with deporting the illegals. Those here illegallys should be returned to their country of origin.

#2 I'm fine with investigating the contractor, if the contractor is nowingly hiring illegals, they should be criminally charged.

#3 I'm fine with the state investigating the woman for illegal business priactices in attempting to get free labor by waiting until the job was just about finished before calling ICE as an attempt to evade payment for labor performed. And no, just speaking Spanish isn't cause for the 3 day delay as I assume the laborers spoke Spanish on day one.

From the OP's article:

"The woman was reported to owe the workers $10,000 for a three-day job, according to Univision, a local TV network. If that is proved to be true, she could potentially face charges under Maryland law, which includes a clause on a person not being able to obtain labor from another person if their consent is induced with the threat or wrongful use of notifying law enforcement of the worker's undocumented or illegal immigration status. This also applies to withholding wages."

"DHS is yet to provide details on those arrested. Some social media users reacting to the video said the homeowner could face charges if she employed immigrants to carry out work, knowing she would call law enforcement on them."

Who said the fact the spoke Spanish was cause for anything?

I would assume during the course of the investigation an investigator would ask her when and why she suspected their status

Do you have evidence she knew prior to hiring the company?

The minute she knew they were the lowest bidder.

And this is the problem with undocumented immigration. We want them to do the work, we just don't want them living with us.

It's like having your cake and eating it, too.

you think the ICEstapo does investigations?

1) link to them being the lowest bidder? I just had my roof done, I didn’t go with the lowest bidder, I went with a company u knew and trusted to do the best work.

I prefer quality. This is a major problem with dembots they just are selfish people by nature and only care about getting the cheap

2) yes, yes they do

The business aspect investigation - if there is one - wouldn't be by ICE. It would be state investigators under state law.

Um states don’t deport people

That’s federal law enforcement, you know ICE

Also knowingly hiring illegals is a federal crime

Certainly there also could be state laws violated on top of that, and other prosecutions

But this thread is about the illegal immigrant aspect

Never said they did.

Yes, the deportation piece.

Also knowingly hiring illegals is a federal crime

Correct - which would apply to the contractor they hired the illegals. Or if their was no contractor and she hired them directly, she acted as the employer.

As the OP's article indicates false busniess in hiring and attempting to withhold wages though is a state crime.

Certainly there also could be state laws violated on top of that, and other prosecutions

Agreed.

But this thread is about the illegal immigrant aspect

In part. The other part is waiting 3 days until the job was complete and prior to paying the $10,000 still owed to get the benefit of cheap labor for her self, and then calling ICE.

.

I just listened to a man who wanted to hire contractors to do some work on his roof, and went through through several "companies" until he found one he thought would not send illegals to work for him -- the company was even named "American", the owner was white. When the crew arrived, none of them spoke a word of English.

I think it's very likely the woman didn't know prior to hiring the company that she could be getting illegal laborers.

I thank my stars that I have a very good, local man, who has done so much work of this nature that he is qualified to pick up almost any cosmetic and repair job on my house. He's now retired from his chosen profession and picking up enough work around town that he can get by. Still healthy in his fifties.
