Mary K. Letourneau, the former elementary-school teacher who served prison time after raping one of her students, was arrested Monday on a misdemeanor warrant.
Letourneau, 51, was arrested by Tukwila police and booked into jail at 4:44 a.m. She was wanted for driving without a license, authorities said...
.... Letourneau and Vili Fualaau, now 30, first met when he was in the second grade at Buriens Shorewood Elementary School and she was a married mother of four. Their relationship became sexual when he was 12.
Letourneau was pregnant with Fualaaus first child when she was arrested in 1997. She pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree child rape and was sentenced to 7½ years in prison, with all but six months suspended.
But a month after her conditional release, she was caught having sex with Fualaau again and was sent to prison, where she bore their second daughter.
The headline-making couple married on May 2005, the nuptials captured by TV.
The couple capitalized on their notoriety by co-hosting Hot for Teacher nights at a Pioneer Square nightclub.
