“The plans show that the two central mansions will be joined by a tunnel that branches off into a 5,000 square foot [464 square metres] underground shelter, featuring living space, a mechanical room, and an escape hatch that can be accessed via a ladder.”
The incredible size of the bunker, which has a blast-proof door, is double that of the average Australian home.

“Now that Zuckerberg has let the cat out of the bag, that’s got other people who share his status or are near his status starting to think, ‘Oh God, if he’s doing that, maybe he knows something that I don’t, maybe I should seek this out myself,” Vicino told The Hollywood Reporter.
“But it’s no secret that the one-percenters and top-ranking government officials have been in on this bunker idea for a long-a** time. The pandemic was a huge driver of interest in sales; then all the global concerns and issues at home are another boost.”

When the financiers caused the Great Depression the rich fled to their country forts and hide behind private armies too, then screamed for the govt. to gun down all the uppity proles for not going off somewhere and starve to death peacefully. We see the same mentality today on the Right; no different now than it ever was. The difference now is we're a lot more urban, and could care less about 'the other guy', it's everybody for themselves.

When the Depression hit my grandfather's town, banks who repossessed farms and houses and then tried to auction them off found themselves facing crowds of farmers and small town folks where only one person would bid a nickel or so, in a crowd ready to lynch both the bankers and any fool who bid against the nickel. It soon became obvious the banks would just have to let people stay in their houses and on their farms and wait for better days. Today in the cities and burbs your 'neighbors' would loot your place in a heartbeat and then kick you in the face. lol and they whine about the homeless no end.

To be truly independent on your own out in the wild takes the kind of skill that passed away with the mountain men a hundred years ago. Building a bunker with a power supply and two years of food.... Only makes you a bigger target.

the thing about hunting ranges is you need a lot more area to feed yourself with, much less a family, and then you have to migrate after a few weeks. You aren't going to be alone out there either, so your options are even more limited. People who can organize and lead will form communities and survive, while the 'mountain man' types will quickly die off. Those 'mountain men' relied on fur companies to survive and re-supply them. Indians spent a lot of time stealing from each other. and when that source dried up they died off fairly fast too, 25 being fairly old for a primitive.
