The hottest inflation in nearly four decades is inflicting financial pain on millions of U.S. households as prices for everyday necessities like food and gasoline continue to surge, according to a new Gallup survey.

The price spike has caused some degree of financial hardship for about 49% of Americans, according to the poll of 811 people conducted between Jan. 3 and Jan. 16. Roughly 9% of respondents said that inflation is causing "severe" hardship that has made it difficult to maintain their standard of living, while 40% described it as "moderate" financial pain. That's an uptick from November, when 45% of Americans said inflation was hurting their wallets.

The effect is more pronounced among lower-income families: Two-thirds of those making less than $40,000 a year say they experienced hardship compared with 56% of middle-income families and 32% of those earning more than $100,000 a year. What's more, 20% of Americans who are considered lower-income said the hardship they are experiencing is severe and hindering their ability to maintain their current standard of living.

Inflation jumped at its fastest pace in nearly 40 years last month, a 7% increase from the year-ago period, the Labor Department said recently.

Hannity grates on me a little, he is so predictable, circular and repetitive, but he does one great service in giving a slot on TV for Levin; Levin is one of the few true FOUNTS of genuine, reliable, incisive, consistent conservative analysis and truth, and that was one of Mark's finest speeches ever.

Inflation?

Naw. Did some shopping today and plain yellow onions had, since last week, increased in price by 64%.

In fairness, bananas were cheaper but they were pre-rotted. No fresh ones available. I asked the produce manager and he said "coroprate" had told them to leave the stuff on the shelf that they usually would have dumped because they didn't want people taking pictures of empty shelves and, besides, when they get desperate enough they'll buy 'em.

Elsewhere in the same store I noticed products that used to have maybe six rows on a shelf were up to 12 or more. But were only 1-2 deep. Again, better optics than Xidenshelves (empty).

Oh, can't forget to mention the bacon. Up to $12 from $6.81 a week or two before but that's because it comes in a new package. Contains 12 ounces instead of the outdated 16 ounce pack. The package phyical size, though is no diferent.

Under which administration did that first occur? What I'm saying is that is it a hack's position to give the blame in its entirety to the party that has the opposite letter than the one you worship.
And so far, by my estimation, nothing from the first bill has been apportioned yet. That was a bi-partisan infrastructure bill (you know, Republicans and Democrats). I didn't hear the hack Levin
