Keeping marijuana federally listed as a controlled substance does so much more harm than good. Hopefully it passes this second time

What's the point? Why should people who broke the law have their records expunged? They are still criminals who broke the law, talk about a completely wrong message. No wonder liberals support such nonsense.

If not the sativa.. Legalize the fucking industrial hemp. Your masters at Dow and Hearst/Weierhauserberger/Monsanto/Exxon/BP wont hear of such antimerrrykinistikal tripe
Where are those asteroids ?

Hopefully the republicans won't block it.
The republicans love the War on Drugs.
What a great use of resources, the war on drugs.
I think we should waste even more money in the War on Drugs. We haven't wasted enough yet.
The War on Drugs is a great issue for the republicans, it lets them act tough and talk tough and look tough, all the while they are causing more harm than good. Just like the GOP war in Iraq.

Why is it that its always the republicans that fuck everything up?? Sure the Dems do their fair share of stupidity, but the GOP has failed in so many ways, so many times. At this point what successes has the GOP had in the 21st Century? Not many.

Perhaps a few so-called conservatives do. When the criminals broke the law, they knew what they were doing was illegal and did it anyway, that should not be forgiven by a simple vote. Their convictions were either decided by a jury or agreed through a plea bargain, that justice should stand.

What did I already tell you pot smokers, that leads to BIG problems with much more dangerous drugs. Not a theory, Oregon and Washington decriminalized pot and meth and heroin abuse took off like a rocket. The dumb ass Dems solution? Recently both states legalized meth and heroin. :cuckoo:

Great story & thanks for sharing it.

You’re absolutely correct it’s WAY past time our boys & girls stop ignoring reality, pull their heads out of their asses and FINALLY legalize it at the Federal Level.

Such is the big government right: compel conformity, punish dissent.

No wonder conservatives are big government authoritarians.
How do you figure? We are talking about criminals who were convicted by a jury or agreed to plea deal. How is maintaining that justice, in any way authoritarian? Do you even have a clue what you are even saying? Or do you just spew nonsense and expect others to understand?

People have the right to rape, murder, steal? Oh wait they don't government compels them to behave. :itsok:

“The bill—which would remove marijuana from the Controlled Substances Act (CSA), allow people with cannabis convictions to have their records expunged and create a federal tax on marijuana with the revenue going to support community reinvestment and other programs—comes as Senate leadership is preparing to introduce a separate reform proposal with similar objectives.” ibid

This proposed measure is also consistent with states’ rights dogma – something conservatives are supposed to support.

Removing marijuana from the CSA would not ‘legalize’ the substance nationwide; the states would remain at liberty to keep marijuana possession and use illegal if they so desire.

And state laws that decriminalize marijuana possession and use would no longer be at odds with Federal law.

Removing marijuana from the CSA would also result in those using the substance in a medical context no longer being considered prohibited persons with regard to Federal firearm laws.

Eliminating firearm regulations is something else conservatives are supposed to support – apparently not.

More government, bigger government to compel conformity and control citizens’ lives is who authoritarian conservatives are – this right’s unwarranted opposition to removing marijuana from the CSA is further proof of that.

So you want people using mind altering substances to own guns? Very liberal of you.

Apparently one "conservative" supports it or at least DID support it when he was trying to get elected the first time...

"In terms of marijuana and legalization, I think that should be a state issue, state-by-state," Trump said while taking a handful of questions during a political rally at a casino outside Reno on Thursday afternoon." -- Washington Post, Oct. 29, 2015
