Maricopa Election Officials Run Afoul of State Law Mandating “Impartiality” in Lake Vs. Hobbs Election, Carries Penalty of Up to Four Months in Prison

Excuses.

But somehow it keeps happening.

What 'machine problems?' WTF are you talking about?
In Arizona, they allow voters to vote in person at any voting place, it does not have to be near their own home.

They have a system set up, where when a voter checks in, this system prints a ballot specifically for that voter, so they can cast a vote with a ballot that has all of their local elections on their own ballot....if their precinct is voting for a new mayor, or a new local sheriff, or a US Representative for their district....

these ballot printing machines print every ballot, specific for Each voter.

This way, registered voters are not faced with having to go and vote in their own precinct to vote for the positions their area has on the ballot, along with any statewide candidates to vote for on the ballot.

These ballot printing machines printed each voter's personalized ballot, the voter took their ballot, filled it out and voted.

When done voting, the voter then carries their ballot to a machine that they put their ballot in, that scans their ballot to count their votes!

If the scanner is able to read and count their vote their ballot is then pushed in to a box labeled Box#2.

If the vote scanning machine has a problem reading the voter's ballot they put in to it, the scanner spits it out.

(That is what was happening at some voting places. The scanners could not read some of the ballots and were spitting them out)

When a ballot is unable to be read by the scanner and spits the ballot back to the voter, on the same vote counting machine, there is a drop box, BOX#3, that voters are suppose to drop their ballot manually, so that their vote can later be hand counted and added to the tally of total votes.

The ballot printing machines ink was set too light in some cases for the vote scanning machines, thus they were spit out.....and manually had to be dropped in Box#3, for a hand count.

Certifying her own election? That's Banana Republic stuff. I wonder if she'll give a speech announcing how fair the election was.

Breaking: County Supervisors in Arizona Strong-Armed with Threats of Jail if they do Not Certify Hobbs as Winner Over Kari Lake, Despite Reservations

The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors in Arizona, led by Chairman Bill Gates, has certified the results of the deeply flawed gubernatorial election in favor of Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, who then, as the state’s highest election official, would be in the unusual position of certifying her own controversial election.

The move is announced even as the county is embroiled in an investigation into “potential statutory violations” of Arizona’s election laws, announce last week by AZ Attorney General Mark Brnovich. [ PDF of official letter from AZ Attorney General to Maricopa County]

....

According to the AZ election statute, Title 16, 16-452, the duties of the AZ Secretary of State and boards of supervisors, regarding elections, include conducting elections with a “maximum degree” of “impartiality.” The statute reads:

“After consultation with each county board of supervisors or other officer in charge of elections, the secretary of state shall prescribe rules to achieve and maintain the maximum degree of correctness, impartiality, uniformity and efficiency on the procedures for early voting and voting, and of producing, distributing, collecting, counting, tabulating and storing ballots. “

The same section of Title 16, 16-452, also reads:

“A person who violates any rule adopted pursuant to this section is guilty of a class 2 misdemeanor.”

AZ state law 13-707 stipulates that class 2 misdemeanors may be punished by up to four months in prison.

Maricopa Board of Supervisors Chairman Gates has on at least one occasion expressed personal political bias against GOP candidate Kari Lake. KTAR News in Phoenix wrote in August 5, 2022:

“Republican Maricopa County Supervisor Bill Gates said Thursday the party may need to lose in order to move away from candidates who deny election results.”

In other words, as the state’s most powerful election official at the head of its most populous county, with over 60% of the population, Gates seemed to all but say he would be more inclined to grant candidates a fair election if they did not engage in speech he did not like. Kari Lake forcefully questions the results of the 2020 election.

Strong Evidence of Blatant Violation of Law Requiring “Maximum Degree” of “Impartiality”

The Arizona Sun Times reports that areas impacted by tabulation machine and printer problems on election day averaged 300% more registered Republicans than Democrats. The table below lists the 70 voting centers named by Maricopa County as having tabulator/ballot printer problems .

Furthermore, the list shows that any Democrat-heavy districts, where Democrats comprised more than 50% of the registrations, were spared.

Maricopa Still Not Saying if the Number of Election Day, Polling Place Check-Ins Matches the Number of Ballots Cast... MORE Maricopa Election Officials Run Afoul of State Law Mandating “Impartiality” in Lake Vs. Hobbs Election, Carries Penalty of Up to Four Months in Prison

How can their be any partiality when Katie Hobbs is the one controlling the election ballot count?

The "malfunction" rate dictates that the number of "door 3" ballots is orders of magnitude more than 17K.

You didn't used to be this dumb....What happened to you?
The system checks you in upfront, and checks you out when your ballot passes through the machine counting scanner, or the scanner for the Box#3 manual ballot drop box....

When your ballot is accounted for, you are checked out.

The article I read said that at the end of the day in Maricopa county, only 194 voters were checked in, but not checked out.... The voter left, without their ballot being counted.

It is interesting that when democrats scream about voting location changes or long lines due to lack of needed places to vote affecting largely democrat strongholds the right is utterly silent.

Now if something effects republican strongholds it is cheating.

What a wanker.
I assume that was directed at me. You are making a false comparison between making it easier to vote and election tampering. But false equivalencies are a go-to for Liberals. It is a sneaky way of lying. Who is the wanker?

I wonder why it's only "Bannan Republic" stuff in Arizona, when it is the norm for:

1. Secretary of States to be elected positions,
2. Secretary of States being in charge of elections,
3. Secretary of States certifying elections,
4. Secretary of States certifying election where they have run for reelection.

You don't here complaints about other 2022 Secretary of State elections:

You are. A complete wanker as you have an asinine double standard. You know you have a double standard. It is blatantly obvious you have a double standard and here you are thinking you can actually defend that absolute asshattery. It is pathetic.

This is why the general public is tired of your useless bitching and why republicans are underperforming and will continue to underperform.

They don't care that they are blatantly lying their asses off. Reality is no longer important. Just the asinine fantasies they have. I have talked with flat earthers that have a better grip on reality.

I hereby - again - state that it is wrong for any secretary of state to be the judge of an election in which they are a candidate. It's an absurd system, worthy of a banana republic.

Arizona is now in the news because the absurdity is highlighted there, that's what the thread is about so that's what I commented about. If you wish to start a thread explaining how it is an awesome idea for secretaries of state to judge their own elections, especially for governor, feel free to state that position and defend it.

Someone with a Wordpress blog says that the Maricopa county election officials face jail time?

Who, pray tell, has charged them with any crime?
