Manchin Didn’t Just Shiv Biden’s Agenda, He Whacked Biden’s Central Campaign Promise Too

If anyone should understand Joe Manchin’s motives for screwing average Americans, the environment, and our democracy itself, it should be “Status Quo Joe” Biden. Manchin’s political decisions, aside from being self-serving, are dictated by his true constituents. No, not the voters back home, his duty is to his high-powered political contributors.

Like the vast majority of Senate members, regardless of party affiliation, the needs of the folks back home are rarely a priority, except those folks back home that head major corporations or whose personal wealth is in the ten-figure range... or larger.

Biden is no stranger to opposing bills to aid working families, the poor, the elderly, etc., he spent his career in the Senate serving the same “constituency” as Joe Manchin. As was stated by AOC, Manchin’s plans to kill legislation beneficial to average Americans was clear months ago. So no one aware of Manchin’s personal business holdings and where he placed his political loyalties should be surprised by anything Manchin says or does.

GOP leaders should thank Manchin publicly for his consistent opposition, since he was able to do what Mitch McConnell could not.

The average American doesn't want to pay higher prices and have his kids and grandkids taxed ti death to support freeloaders. That's where your spiel falls apart..

Senator Joe Manchin raised over $400,000 from donors in the energy industry in the third quarter, including some from donors that normally give to Republicans, according to his latest filing with the Federal Election Commission.

Manchin, who is from West Virginia, also owns millions of dollars in coal stocks. West Virginia is the second-largest producer of coal in the US, according to the West Virginia Office of Energy.

Manchin received $74,600 from the employees and political action committee of energy company Energy Transfer Partners, according to Bloomberg and FEC documents.

The company's co-founder, Kelcy Warren, donated the maximum of $5,800-$2,900 to Manchin for his primary and general election campaigns, Bloomberg reported. Warren also hosted a fundraiser for former President Donald Trump and gave $13.7 million to GOP candidates and causes in 2020.

Donors over constituents.

Manchin read the tea leaves and decided the Democrats are headed for a political disaster not seen since...well, maybe ever. And he decided he wanted no part of it.

Really really bad news for you, Leftists. Doubling down on the "unvaccinated" might make you feel better but will not improve your prospects.

The “oppressed” people that Dems are crying about are ALREADY getting so much money from the government that they are refusing to take part-time jobs to help support their family - or quit the ones they do have. This is particularly true for middle earners with three or four children, who are now getting $1000 a month or so tax free from other people (to say nothing of the $10,000 or $12,000 their families got in January for stimulus).

This of course comes at the expense to other segments of the population - the middle earners who do not have children, or seniors on modest fixed incomes. Inflation is hitting them hard.

Libs only see things from one side of the equation: what they can hand out to (certain) people. They never consider the cost to (other) people.

According to the trucking industry, we are short 80,000 truckers now (contributing to the supply chain problems)...

And industry leaders are saying another 2.5 MILLION truckers will quit if Sleazy Joe's vaccine mandate goes through.....

I wonder how many Democrats will continue to support the Retard when their children start crying from hunger....

The vaccines are a disaster and the disaster will be slow-rolling. They are frantically, almost maniacally trying to blame the unvaccinated.

It's barely working now. It certainly isn't working very well when you see Cory Booker and E. Warren vaxxed AND boosted and having "breakthrough" infections. This is not an outlier, btw. This is what happens with really bad vaccines. They make you MORE susceptible to the virus.

But like all horrid losers, rather than say, we messed up...they'll blame those who did not take part. It won't work. But let them find that out, the hard way.

Well it will be Manchins fault when the children's start crying their hungry. Republican children too in his state. I never see empty shelves at the stores.

They won't go to the hospital, but the unvaccinated might end up there.

There are plenty of empty shelves. In fact, there’s almost a camaraderie among shoppers as we lament to one another how much is missing.

Even in the early months of the pandemic, with businesses ground to a halt, the food and product supply was plentiful (except for the odd run on toilet paper. This tells me that the attempt to transform America into something closer to Venezuela is intentional, starting with the food supply.

Here ya go from the U of M hospital system, Dec. 13th

Manchin saved Biden's campaign promise. He ran on making the rich pay their fair share. In the bill was tax breaks for the rich. Now those are gone and hopefully if the Dem's give it another go they live up to their promise and pay for it with taxes for the upper wage earners.

LOL, nice spin. We all know Manchin is self serving in his opposition, but it's laughable for you to to try and pass BBB as " legislation beneficial to average Americans", when we all know it's filled with payoff's and groundwork for more government overreach.

WTF?
Truck driver shortages have always been an issue.

Labor shortages have plagued the industry since the 1980s, when deregulation sparked a jump in the number of trucking companies. That pushed demand for drivers. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration counted 5.7 million commercial motor vehicle drivers in the country in 2014, including 3.9 million with commercial driver’s licenses needed to operate tractor-trailers or other heavy-duty trucks.

Despite those numbers, the industry has about 48,000 fewer drivers than available driver jobs, according to a 2015 American Trucking Associations report. The ATA estimates that the industry will need 890,000 new drivers through 2025 to meet rising demand.

According to Driver Solutions, data from the American Trucking Association ATA) shows that there’s a need for about 100,000 new drivers in 2017, and the shortfall is already at 50,000. And it’s only going to get worse.

Against this backdrop is the growth of e-commerce, which puts even more pressure on the bulk transport and logistics industry. Amazon may have been the first major mover in this space, but now, nearly every brick and mortar retailer worth naming is getting into the e-comm game. As a result, there’s mounting pressure on parcel delivery companies as well as long and short haul freight carriers.

The ATA estimated more than a year ago that truck driver shortage could hit 175,000 by 2024.
