That's exactly why I think Manafort is expecting a presidential pardon. The expression 'birds of a feather flock together' applies here on more than on level and Manafort in his ostrich jacket seems to have the 'payback' button ready.

This was a crucial few months. The same few months where the Trump campaign had at least two verified contacts with Russian government operatives. The first in the meeting at Trump tower (which Manafort attended) and the second between Russian Intelligence handler Alexander Torshin and Don Jr.

Manafort could confirm simple details.....like Trump was aware of the meeting well before it happened (which Cohen has already confirmed), or reveal conversations about the collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians.

Additionally, Manafort has *deep* connections to russian sources himself. He worked for a Russia backed Ukrainian government for years. Its entirely possible that Manafort himself was a conduit for contacts between the Trump campaign and Russia.

We'll find out.
