Nothing migrates to a hostile environment, they migrate to an environment with new opportunity. Man migrated north because the ice age animals offered food in abundance.

And aren't environmental changes the driving force of evolution?

Either that or extinction. If you are a specialist you die where a generalist will survive.

Changing one's environment by moving is the same as the environment itself changing.

They predicted in the late 1700's that we were going to over populate this planet. Imagine if we had the population we had in 1960. We'd be in great shape right now.

The only reason to go to space is that this planet will not be inhabitable forever.

How about instead of us doubling our population in the next 40 years we shrink the population? Problem solved. That would buy us another billion years on this planet.

We are even running out of high quality sand. Sand. You’d think we’d never run out of that. But we need it to make bricks I guess. Too many people.

It’s a sad reality. If you give everyone a good income and the opposite sex, we will breed like rabbits. Even poor people breed like rabbits. More. But not if musk, trump and vivik cut them off. No free healthcare and school lunches. Or foodstamps. When you cut poor people off, they’ll wise up and take the pill. Or insist he wear a rubber.

Middle class Americans are more like me than I thought. I always felt like a minority not wanting or having kids. But there’s a lot more like me than I realized. We don’t have job security like our parents and grandparents had. If they worked someplace in their 20s they probably retired there with a pension. I’d have kids too if I ever had job security. But that doesn’t exist today. Who wants to have kids and suddenly be unemployed?

We want humanity to continue. I just hope my nephews carry on the bobo name. Not everybody, especially men, crave it. I can’t believe how many do meet someone after college, start a family with all the responsibilities and costs. I truly enjoy being cool uncle.

So I’m not doing it for noble reasons. More selfish. But that’s this next generation. We’ve taught them to be selfish. That’s the way to thrive in this economy.
