Here is how it matters - they better tread reeeal lightly. It shows that the mandate is weak and if they over-stump that thin layer of support will break.

Suppose they manage to repeal Obamacare subsidies and Medicaid expansion, 10+ million of people would lose health insurance and in 2018 Republicans will get clobbered.
