I wonder about the parent's awareness of what his kid's school schedule was. Of course it was a scam, but it is upsetting that all of the personal info was known--the only explanation is the robo call scenario that you spoke of---not-so-funny inside job?

Interesting as I thought that it was usually the kidnapping scam or your child has been in an accident or arrested when it comes to demanding money out of parents.

It doesn't sound like fun to me. I personally believe that he should call the police because it sounds like they have a stalker and I'm thinking more child predator than somebody wanting money.
