Politics are rapidly changing in America. Anybody that thinks old school conservative politics is still viable in this country, isn't paying attention.

The feeling that I'm getting from the Dems is that he'll really have to push hard here. If he doesn't present the kind of administration that Gavin Newsom did when he was mayor of San Francisco -- and that's hardcore progressive -- I have to wonder how the base will take it.

From my perspective, it's one thing to reject the ugliness, immorality and mindless caveman aggression of the Trump administration, but I doubt the country, writ large, is looking for a swing to the hard Left, either.

So this will be a risk, no doubt about it. Meanwhile, many of us will still be hoping for something different than all this.
