Majority of US companies say they have to raise prices due to Trump tariffs

But they wont. Tariffs put prices up. Thats just the way it works,
In the short run but in the long run they do, China is increasing is orders with the US as China’s tariffs are at an all time low for US products, so US sales go up in a country of 1.4 billion people, that means more work, few unemployed which creates worker demand which increases wage which in turn offsets inflation. Maybe you preferred the Democrats having inflation and no job growth and wages not keeping up with inflation.

The last 50 years we have lost in the trading wars with China, maybe after 50 year of being on the bad side of the deal, maybe this isn’t the answer but I think we need to change things and at least even the field, lower the fentanyl deaths in the process and see what happens. Biden, Obama, Bush, Clinton, Bush might not have served American well in the trade business.

I am open to new ideas as the status quo is ruining American and making it tougher to live.

But thats all a maybe in the future. The reality is that prices are going up.
Someone has to pay the tariff.

Use your brain, dude. Don't rely on any news source. Business are paying tariffs, on goods, anywhere from 10% to 30%+. Gross profit margins run about 40% on aveage. Net profits lower. Do you expect companies to lose money or reduce their profits substantially.
If it is your business, what would you do. Let's say you are bringing home $100,000 a year, from your business. After tariffs you would bring home $40,000 a year unless you pass on all or some of the tariff.
What would you do?
I never rely on one source of news little own anyone that is a completely biased source.
Tariffs have been a part of business since about 1860.
So it is nothing new. Even Biden and Obama had tariffs on goods.
I fail to believe a single article by an extremely biased source that 54% are increasing prices due solely to Trump while the rest are not. So sue me because I fail to believe a single biased source that I do not even consider to be news.
As far as the rest. It seems that some companies are willing to take a slightly less profit. Or are some just using tariffs as an excuse to increase their profit margin.
You can pretend that you would but you are not showing a true picture it is your supposition

Trump is all about hurting the American people and enriching the top 5% of our society. Truly sick.
What is frustrating is too many of the MAGA followers do not understand. They do not have exposure to many aspects of business and politics to understand the effects of what he is doing.

This must be exciting for maga fans. Its exactly what they voted for. Higher prices.
They do have options. Not buying anything is the main one.
I do feel that the maga herd is in a false sense of security at the moment.

Stockpiling means that the trump recession hasnt kicked in yet. It will when the stock runs out and they have to re-order.

A long hot summer of trump fuelled discontent.
Walmart reported 14.8 billion in profits in 2024.

Think hard

I am part of a consulting group that works with manufacturers and products in the retail marketplace, We work with small to large companies and we work with some companies based internationally. We have 25 plus clients. Everyone of the US companies are being effected negatively.
Most large companies have some products that are manufactured in China and other locations internationally, Many products produced in the US have components that come offshore.
Tariffs have been rolled out slowly over many years. If companies know a head of time about a tariff thet can plan accordingly. Trump gave no notice and changed the tariffs continually making planning impossible. When they have product orded a few months ago, at a certain landed cost, and then when it lands they have to pay a 30% tariff, their. They have committed product and finances are turned upside down.
Consumers complain about 8% inflation, as they should, but expect businesses to absorb 10% to 30%+ and make no changes is hypocritical.
Too many people do not get it.

Could be true or not, the Guardian admits to being anti-Trump and the insurance company that claimed to take the poll? How scientific was it, how was it conducted, so many variables and with the new age of being lied to by the media all the time, tough to know what to be.ieve anymore. The lines of truth in the media and politics leaves many people, including myself, not trusting those that lied to us the last few years.
You could just say 'fake news' and be done with it. After all, insurance companies are known for biased financial surveys, right?

So will you broadcast that prices are supposedly coming down because of Trump or just the bad?
There's only evidence one way, so far. I guess the decrease in prices due to tariffs will be broadcast when evidence is available.

Yes we will, that is the price to pay now, and it is better now than later. With risks comes rewards, and at this point, there is nothing to lose.

Only wealth and position to China. Oh, right. Already done.

What? Now I'm confused. You trust financial surveys from insurance entities?

Sure, Allianz surveys companies and there is no demographic info in the story. Who were the companies? Only Mattel was mentioned and they don't mfr. in the US. How many companies were surveyed? What was the sample size that justifies statements like "over half the companies in the US?" This story, like most of those that you post is BS.

People who push a brush for a living find it confusing. I dont think trump understands it either. And his staff are too scared to tell him.

What would you like them to ask in order to give a more positive message ?

The tariffs belong to donny.
Freeze the budget for 4 years. See how much the deficit is cut. Then we will get the crying of all the social programs not rising with inflation and even historically above it.

Don't buy Chinese garbage and you don't pay the tariff. What do you care for anyway Taint? Are you paying US tariffs on Chinese goods in Wales? As expected, you're just trolling.
