This must be exciting for maga fans. Its exactly what they voted for. Higher prices.
They do have options. Not buying anything is the main one.
I do feel that the maga herd is in a false sense of security at the moment.

Stockpiling means that the trump recession hasnt kicked in yet. It will when the stock runs out and they have to re-order.

A long hot summer of trump fuelled discontent.

Well that would certainly keep Trump busy, threatening and intimidating all of them.

Maybe he can farm that out.

So 46% of companies DONT have to raise prices. That’s weird

He’ll need a lot of eyeballs.

Gee let me see if I have this correct. A far left publication that obviously feels they have an axe to grind about Trump is your source. Why am I not surprised that you would choose to use this as your lack of facts.
Somehow this thing claims that only 54% are blaming tariffs for raising prices which means that probably the number is a lot lower. Even if we give them the inflated number of 54% that still means a large part of other companies do not feel a need to increase costs. I find that a telling statement.
I believe that some are willing to use anything to increase profits if that means lying to their customers then so be it

Could be true or not, the Guardian admits to being anti-Trump and the insurance company that claimed to take the poll? How scientific was it, how was it conducted, so many variables and with the new age of being lied to by the media all the time, tough to know what to be.ieve anymore. The lines of truth in the media and politics leaves many people, including myself, not trusting those that lied to us the last few years.

Tommy, Donald Trump spent his 2024 campaign offering clear promises about tariffs.
"I don't need Congress ... I'll have the right to impose them myself."

Tommy, these are uneducated voters, Trump's base.

Tommy is correct, It is EXACTLY what they voted for. :)
And I made it very clear from day one, in my signature.

CULTISTS... it's coming.. And you voted for it :(

Its an Allianz survey. They are hardly a bunch of commies.

Never said they were, you have no idea the context of the poll, the wording or anything else. The science of when, how why questions influence answers make a difference in the answers and can possibly skew data, I just lost trust in many sources as bias, twisting, lying are now common in the media. After the presidential debate and the subsequent articles and now a book documenting Biden’s decline, do you still believe a media that was not only complicit in the cover up but also disparaged and shamed anyone who that used the actual footage of Biden’s getting lost on stage as being dishonest and manipulative. Do you already forgive them? Do you really still actually believe them? They haven’t changed and until they admit to their lies, they aren’t going to be different now.

I havent got a problem with ir. Its just a snapshot. there arent any shocks. Tariffs are inflationary. You can argue that they will eventually bring costs down but thats an argument for another time.

So will you broadcast that prices are supposedly coming down because of Trump or just the bad?

Use your brain, dude. Don't rely on any news source. Business are paying tariffs, on goods, anywhere from 10% to 30%+. Gross profit margins run about 40% on aveage. Net profits lower. Do you expect companies to lose money or reduce their profits substantially.
If it is your business, what would you do. Let's say you are bringing home $100,000 a year, from your business. After tariffs you would bring home $40,000 a year unless you pass on all or some of the tariff.
What would you do?
