I always saw Left and Right in terms of sex differences: Lefties/Democrats are the nurturing, bleeding heart mothers. Righties/Republicans, traditionally, have been the stoic, stern and strict father. As "mothers", Democrats want to care for the poor, the sick and the weak.

The problem with American politics today is Republicans are no longer fatherly. They dodge responsibility, blame others for their problems and, in general, act like spoiled children who believe "he who screams loudest wins".

I don't blame Trump for this degradation of the Republican Party since it's a trend that's been developing since the end of the Cold War. However, there is no denying that Donald J.
