Second, Trump pledged to NOT make cuts to SS or Medicare, and even if he lied and will try and make cuts, SS and Medicare benefit cuts would require congressional support, which is highly unlikely to materialize, since as we all know SS is the third-rail of politics, and these people are elected in districts and states, and their careers are dependent on getting votes from the people who vote the most, older people who directly benefit from SS and Medicare.
