Elon Musk’s recent comments about “widespread fraud” in federal entitlements have sparked intense debate, particularly after Congressman Riley Moore’s remarks about cutting what he called “mandatory spendings”, programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.

Republicans have already put forth budget resolutions calling for billions of dollars in cuts to Medicaid and food assistance programs, effectively targeting society’s most vulnerable. Musk recently commented alleging billions of dollars in fraudulent Social Security payments, a claim made without evidence and contrary to the Social Security Administration’s protocols requiring valid identification for benefits. Musk’s statements are an effort to sow doubt about the legitimacy of these programs, laying the groundwork for potentially drastic reductions in Social Security under the guise of “efficiency” or “fraud prevention.”

Well, if there is fraud taking place, the fraudsters need to be apprehended and put on trial.

The cool thing about the GOP being in total control is that they no longer have valid excuses for not being able to do something as elementary as prosecuting those who commit crimes.

But, as we've seen, just because they don't have valid excuses doesn't mean they won't try to sell the invalid excuses.

Watching Prog politicians destroy their areas from pure ineptitude is the true gold standard.

Going after fraud?

I have said for a long time now that if one is on disability, one should at least try to work. It depends on the disability, but if I can work, most anyone can.

It’s these people who game the system that are a big part of the problem.
Yep, you would not believe the number of "people" I've known over the years that got SS disability in their late 30s/early 40s and then worked off the books.

All had nice homes....All in their wife's name, same with their fancy PUs....On paper they owned nothing.

I always looked down my nose at them.

One good thing was if their wife left them they took it all but the disability check.....But they didn't seem to care and would hook-up with a newly minted wife in no time.

It's true, if you're collecting Social Security benefits fraudulently, MAGA is coming for you.

SSDI has a rigorous system in place to keep fraudsters from getting anything. It requires over 18 momths just to get a hearing. Then medical exams by numerous physicians and mental health professionals.
And the number of people on it is small. Most people simply prefer to have jobs. Those working "off book" are incredibly small in number.

SSDI is more likely to deny your initial case than any other government program. So you have to appeal.....which is another 18 months. (3 years total to get approved except for those who are literally dying....and even then there are those who died before getting approved)

Paraplegic filers have been denied their first time through the process. It's not easy or simple to claim SS disability.

No, what they are going after are those who live outside of America and their citizenship is in question for Medicare/Medicaid and SS...especially the ones over 112 years of age.

Yeah, but in exchange, Musk gets some big ol' tax cuts, investigations against him go away, and business regulations he doesn't like are flushed.

So this has probably been the best investment of his time in his life.

Plus, the people the rubes hate don't like it.

And that's what matters.

Hey dumb ass, Medicare and Social Security FRAUD has been a big problem for decades.
Hey, you moronic motherfucker, Trump, and Elon under the pretext of "FRAUD" and inefficiency, are going to cut what they shouldn't. According to them, they have to cut over 2 trillion dollars, hence the only way to do that is by assaulting Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, rent vouchers like Section 8..etc.

The irony is that the vast majority of these GOP fans aren't even rich. They're working-class people, and some of them are even collecting Social Security and Medicare. These GOP groupies are freaking retarded.

Yeah, that's one of the psychological aspects of this that are so interesting. He somehow appeals to their emotions and sense of belonging so much that they just don't care.
