New House Speaker Thinks Creationist Museum Is 'Pointing People To The Truth'

An ark replica with dinosaurs "is one way to bring people to this recognition ... that what we read in the Bible are actual historical events,” Mike Johnson said.

Before arriving in Washington less than a decade ago, House Speaker Mike Johnson, a deeply religious Christian, was a legal crusader associated with a fringe evangelical movement called “young Earth creationism,” based on a literal reading of the Bible’s Book of Genesis that posits the Earth is only several thousand years old.

In the mere hours since Johnson was elected speaker Wednesday, he hadn’t had to address his views on creationism and evolution. But his close ties to a leader of the creationist movement and his past legal work — on behalf of the Ark Encounter creationist theme park, where children can learn that dinosaurs were passengers on Noah’s Ark — seem to suggest that he’s also personally aligned with these beliefs.

So you’re anti-Semitic.

Here is a life-sized replica of Noah's Ark at The Ark Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) previously sued to get tax breaks for this park, which is based on the Genesis flood narrative in the Bible.

We Christians have the Ark. Muslims have the 'Kaaba black stone rock.' Jews have the Wailing Wall.

Nowhere in the Bible does it state the world is only 6000 years old or that dinosaurs were on the Ark.

Where does Johnson say that? Oh, nowhere.

Israelites are descendants of Jacob/Israel, whose time was centuries after Noah and the Ark.

And Jews are descendants of Judah, who was one of Israel's twelve sons.

There were no Israelites or Jews at the time of the Ark.
And who told that story?

Try to think.

The wailing wall, and the back stone are iconic items that are integral to the religions that have embraced them since antiquity. The silly ark replica is a very recent attempt at marketing for a theme park. If it served a real religious purpose, they wouldn't have gone bankrupt.
