MAGA: Losing Money Means Nothing

Trump declaring an economic crisis made no sense

His tariffs were excessive and poorly planned and executed
/---/ Based on what? What's the democRATs plan for the balance of trade and unfair tariffs?
Chuch used to understand and support Trump on tariffs. What happened?

Schumer lauds Trump's new China tariffs - New York Post

Jun 17, 2018 Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer on Sunday praised President Trump for slapping tariffs on $50 billion worth of Chinese products and said he urged the chief executive to do this "three weeks ago…

This will be up to the UK, Europe, China, Japan and all our biggest trading partners.

I wouldn't blame them if they told us to fuck off. They will at some point, whether it's now or once they're better organized.
Big meetings will need to be held. Our society cannot be run at the whim of american nazus.
There is less and less reason to keep the US in the family of civilised nations.
Its a shame in many ways.
I live in a sleepy little town on the English border. Within a mile of my home there is a Macs, Kfc,Burger King and Starbucks. how much does trump want ?

He's just making the point that stock markets go up and down in cycles, but very big very important events may be catastrophic. If Kamala won the US would have been over because the dollar would have collapsed and the open borders would have turned the US into the EU.
Stock markets are volatile yes(which is why I have always pointed out that they should not be the main element of retirement) but THIS??

This is self inflicted. Trump is DOING THIS TO US

DID YOU VOTE FOR THIS????

It makes no senae

/---/ Those are franchises using UK property, labor, and materials and paying UK taxes.
That's different than importing a product built in the US.

Did you sell your stocks RW? I didn't.
I’m retired and I had some obligations I had to met so yes.. I did pull money from my 401K.

That means a locked in loss. But hell… maybe pulling that money out now saves money on the long run considering the way this shit is dropping

/---/ Yes, I voted to accept short-term pain in exchange for long term fair and balanced trade.
I made necessary adjustments to my portfolio. I'll ride out the storm trading inverse (bear market) ETFs.

Markets fluctuate. Look at what happened when Obama came into office in 2009. Don't blame TRUMP if you failed to move out of stocks, before this predictable chaos started. Blame the man in the mirror.

Balance of trade?
Who gives a fuk?

We are the wealthiest country in the world.
We are international consumers. That means we buy stuff.

We can’t expect the rest of the world to buy goods at the same level we do

Due process of law is the principle that the government must follow fair procedures when taking away a person's life, liberty, or property. It's a fundamental right in the United States, protected by the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments.
You said "(illegal) non-citizens don't have "due-process rights" until after their hearing and they are given temporary status."
That is simply not true.
Ones presence in this country is unlawful, involuntary, or transitory is entitled to that constitutional protection. No need for a "hearing", no need for "temporary status". ArtI.S8.C18.8.7.2 guarantees it. Stop deflecting and take a month off.
Stop typing lies and YOU take a month off.
Deportation and Remain in Mexico is US policy until their hearing date....10-years out.
You can thank Biden's open borders for leaving 12,000,000 illegals into the US pushing those hearing dates out 10-years.

World nations are accustomed to (at least relatively) intelligent leaders who have a decent grasp and working knowledge of geopolitics and global macroeconomics. They therefore assume it in other world leaders.

I don't know if the world has figured this out yet, but Trump is not one of those leaders. If I lived overseas, I would be urging my leaders to create, nuture and grow new trade and economic relationships. Without us.

Last year, under Bidenomics, my retirement fund earned 26 percent.

Just think about it
Under a President suffering from dementia, almost a vegetable…….26 PERCENT

But America wanted TRUMP.
Graduated Wharton with a degree in ECONOMICS
He manages to trash the worlds economy with one stroke of the pen.

What makes sense are fair/equal tariffs and fair/equal trade.
If this market turmoil gets the US fair trade and more manufacturing then I am supportive.

Not at the expense of our economy

This is like burning down your own house because you don’t like the color it’s painted

/---/ Who said we didn't already know that? And not everything we export is expensive stuff.

Vietnam's income per capita, measured as GDP per capita, was approximately $4,347 in 2023 and is expected to reach around $4,986 by the end of 2025. This figure reflects the country's economic growth and development over recent years.

And reflects the fact that they are not going to be increasing US purchases.

So again, what is the point?

Again, Vietnam had roughly 15% tariffs. Trump enacted 46% on them. Is this the definition of fair/equal?

China is positioning itself to fill the role of the U.S. in global trade.

In the past decade, the US economy has exceeded China because of our global partnerships
China competes alone.

Why would anyone trust the US after this?

Trump says we have to “take our medicine”

Some are, very sick.

Yep. And Vietnam is right behind China. And if India wakes up -- and it looks like it may be -- they'd take over. And they're not our friend.

That's what we get for separating ourselves from our former friends and partners.

Kind of odd how when Bidumb was blowing up our debt you couldn’t afford eggs but the stock market was up. Now the money flow is being cut and eggs are cheaper but the stock market goes down. It’s almost as if we shouldn’t care.
kind of doesn't track with the road. There hasn't been one dime of tariff money pushed down, so where is the fear from?
