YOU haven't had a problem so everything is fine.
A shortage of PCP's is ongoing. We spend our tax dollars training doctors and putting them through school, and then American hospitals hire them, with no investment at all.
Although recently, that trend is reversing. American doctors are getting frustrated with being unable to properly care for patients, on threat of prosecution. Life imprisonment for performing a D&C on a woman who is bleeding out from a partial miscarriage. Texas sued a New York doctor for prescribing mephapristone. Laws vary from state to state. And they have to hire staff to deal with insurance companies.
People didn't get into medicine as a career because they wanted and uncertain and unsafe playing field in which they must work in accordance with insurance company interference.
Doctors make less money in Canada, but they don't have to deal with the bullshit and the politics American doctors do. My doctor's receptionist does all of his billing and paperwork. There are no preapprovals, every issue isn't decided by litigation. They see more patients and can treat them more easily, and cheaply than the USA, where they have to cover their asses against lawsuits, routinely.
The medical brain drain is being reversed by American politics and stupidity.
