Giving up your ID to porn providers, what could go wrong?

In an effort to protect minors from accessing online pornography, Louisiana lawmakers have enacted a new law requiring age verification on adult websites.

Act No. 440, which went into effect on Jan. 1, will now require residents of the Bayou State to provide proof of their age with a government-issued ID or digital ID card before accessing online pornographic websites.

Porn is incredibly harmful to children

But protecting them from it is an uphill battle

It really isn't.
There are very good programs that filters out porn on laptops and phones.
As well as you can control overall internet access time as well... study time? No problem... these apps block internet usage for whatever time period you set.

That would really lower internet usage in Louisiana! Who wants the state to have a say? VPN, anyone?

What used to be considered porn is now in casual everyday use within advertising and pop culture

they see the beautiful and practically naked women, such as the ones st the top of this page, and that takes them to the doorstep of real porn

Nothing wrong with boys seeing positive/sexy gals. I think that is a good thing actually. It can satisfy early feelings and solidify interests.
Modern porn is a whole other level of debauchery and anything goes. I have never understood how feminist somehow look past overwhelming male dominance in porn. That's another story.

The best thing is blocking software and control sets on the router itself by the parent. But most parents unfortunately take no controls at all.

I’m not so sure about that

Some boys may keep it all in perspective

But many others dont and there are so many different ways it can go wrong

Nor is it healthy for the girls to see an ideal that they can never achieve

Do lawmakers understand how the internet works? Don't they know about Proxies and VPN's. I think most lawmakers are just rich men in suits who make laws and don't understand most of the common people.

People like to pass things to say "Look what we are doing" when they know very well they are doing nothing. Granted a sub set may actually be simply clueless.

They have zero clues as to how the internet works. I do, though. I was stringing 9 anon proxies together to hack websites in 1999. With Netscape Navigator 4. (and a program)

Only 2 people on AOL ever had more <>< than I did. That's real. One was Aaron. I forget the other one. Maybe Manson.
I used to give Kali <>< and he'd TOS anybody I wanted. Also always invited me to see him him scroll (usually in the lobby) and sometimes let me on some of his OHs, and I let him on a couple, too. I don't dare do any of that stuff these days.
