One would think that a CEO of a company had to be very motivated to lobby congress for a return to paper backup ballots, after deciding to go paperless. Interesting to say the least. Also, it's likely this particular company was more than motivated to straighten out the findings of the experts who put out the following report regarding falsehoods on ES&S's website about "zero internet connection". Seems he knew the need to reverse course as surely the report damaged his business reputation, particularly since he never disputed the findings as it was factual. This is rather satisfying! We shall see how the court suits go. Dominion certainly has a right to sue. If they put Lou Dobbs into the poorhouse I would be very happy.

All the mainstream and rightwing news media lie, but about different things and in different ways. The far right is often particularly stupid and slanderous.

Big corporate media regularly lie about domestic political matters when their bottom line is threatened. They lie about international politics in regard to wars, competitor state capitalist economies or geo-political opponents. Nobody can sue about such issues. Our leaders can lie their heads off to get us into wars, and the “law” can do nothing whatever to them.

It is also usually extremely difficult to win personal slander cases in the U.S.A.

Perhaps “reputational damage / loss of business” corporate lawsuits are easier to win here?
