Female jihadists are willing to go against the extremists' strict rules banning women from committing acts of violence, according to new research.
Meanwhile, women who have joined the militants from Western nations are said to be unaffected by the bloody murders carried out by IS, with one describing a beheading as "gut-wrenchingly awesome".
The findings were part of a studyinto why women from the West have joined IS, conducted by UK think-tank Institute for Strategic Dialogue.
The study said: "There is no doubt, therefore, that the women who migrate to the territory controlled by Isis revel in the gore and brutality of the organisation.
