The cynic in me says that call was made to insure the final match-up that everyone wanted to see.It might not have been called if it was just a moving screen, but it was a deliberate blocking foul.

Bottom line, if she had not fouled, the call could not have been made. That is the downfall of cynicism. The cynic in me says that call was made to insure the final match-up that everyone wanted to see.
How is that the downfall of cynicism?Bottom line, if she had not fouled, the call could not have been made. That is the downfall of cynicism.
Do you believe the call would have been made had she not fouled? If so, that would be the cynic in you. However, there is no cynicism called for unless you think she fouled purposely which would have been counter-productive to her team. How is that the downfall of cynicism?
What I was referring to is that there is often more going on in a big time game like that. Like the desire of the networks for an Iowa/South Carolina final. They got millions more eyeballs on that game than they would have with UConn.Do you believe the call would have been made had she not fouled? If so, that would be the cynic in you. True. The only reason I watched any of the UConn/Iowa game was to see Caitlin Clark. I wanted to see what all the hype was about. TBH, I only watched the last 4 minutes or so, but I wasn't particularly impressed with what I saw from Iowa. What I was referring to is that there is often more going on in a big time game like that.
